Keith Larson

Head Coach

Keith Larson was named the head women’s golf coach at Lynn University after serving as the men’s assistant golf coach from 2019–22 and the women’s assistant coach from 2020–22. He played a key role in the success of both programs during the 2021–22 campaign, which saw each squad reach the NCAA Regionals, highlighted by a quarterfinal finish for the women at the NCAA Championships. Since taking over the women’s program, Larson has overseen one of the most successful stretches in program history, marked by national accolades, record-setting performances, and consistent postseason success. Lynn set a new tournament scoring record at the Lynn Invite in 2025, finishing at -2 , while also capturing a team victory on its home course. During the 2022–23 season, the Fighting Knights produced four Men’s Scholar All-Americans and six Women’s Scholar All-Americans, along with four Women’s All-Americans. Lynn also earned National and Conference Player of the Year honors and placed four student-athletes on All-Conference teams. That season, Lynn won nine tournaments in 13 events, including the Sunshine State Conference Championship by 20 strokes and the NCAA South Region Championship by 12 shots. Larson was named SSC Coach of the Year and NCAA Division II South Region Coach of the Year for the first time. Lynn was ranked No. 1 in the nation for 22 weeks and capped the season with a Final Four appearance at the NCAA National Championship. In 2023–24, Lynn finished the season ranked No. 8 nationally in the Scoreboard Rankings powered by clippd. The Fighting Knights won the World Golf Invitational and placed runner-up at both the UIndy Fall Invitational and the NCAA DII South Regional. The Blue & White closed the year with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA DII National Championship, including a 2-2-1 tie against Findlay in the quarterfinals of National Championship Medal Match Play. Individually, Lynn recorded five Scholar All-Americans, two All-Americans, two All-Conference selections, and claimed National and Conference Freshman of the Year honors. The team finished the season with 10 top-five and 12 top-10 finishes. The 2024–25 campaign continued that momentum, as Lynn tallied four Scholar All-Americans, two All-Americans, and two All-Conference selections, while also earning Conference Player of the Year honors and placing one student-athlete on the National All-Freshmen Team. Prior to leading the women’s program, Larson was part of a men’s golf staff that guided Lynn to multiple championship runs. In 2019–20, the Fighting Knights earned three wins in seven events before the pandemic-shortened season concluded, including a 14-shot victory at the Division I-hosted Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate. The spring of 2019 marked Larson’s arrival at Lynn, where the men won four of eight tournaments and captured the Division II South/Southeast Regional championship before going undefeated in match play to claim their second straight NCAA Division II National Championship. Before joining Lynn, Larson served as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s golf programs at Seattle University. A native of the Pacific Northwest, he brings more than 13 years of coaching experience to the Fighting Knights. Larson spent eight years as the head men’s and women’s golf coach at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, Calif., and nine years as a master instructor at the Greg Coplin Golf School in Burlingame, Calif. He also served as a master instructor at the Jim McLean Golf School at PGA West Resort in La Quinta, Calif. A Washington State University alumnus, Larson has conducted instructional and coaching clinics around the world, including in Mexico City, Thailand, Japan, and China.

Karli Heimbecker

Assistant Coach

Heimbecker was promoted to Lynn University's head women's golf coach on April 1, 2016.  She becomes the fourth head coach in program history.  She was previously hired as assistant women's golf coach on July 22, 2015, joining a program which has reached three consecutive NCAA Division II National Championships, including winning back-to-back titles in 2013-14. Heimbecker arrived in Boca Raton having spent two years as the graduate assistant coach for both the mens & womens golf teams at West Georgia.   In the 2014-15 season, she played a large role in the Wolves receiving the first NCAA bid in school history for the mens golf program while also earning a top-10 national ranking. Under her guidance, Corey Evans collected PING South Region accolades in consecutive years and as a junior, posted one of the best seasons in UWG history by accumulating a 72.03 stroke average and five top-10 finishes. On the womens side, Heimbecker assisted in the development of Stephanie Bennett, who became the first golfer in program history to win the Gulf South Conference Championship individual title and qualify for the NCAA South Region Tournament. A four-year letterwinner at the University of South Florida from 2009-13, Heimbecker competed in 21 tournaments, including a pair of BIG EAST Champoinships, with an 80.11 stroke average in 64 rounds played.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Art in International Studies and a minor in general business administration. Heimbecker earned her Master of Public Administration from West Georgia. The Sanford, N.C., native comes from a family of golfers as her brother played at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and sister competed for the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.

Andrew Danna

Assistant Coach

Danna was named the third head mens golf coach in program history on July 30, 2012.  He previously served two years at Georgia Southwestern, which started mens golf in 2006 after making the transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II. Taking over a storied program is never easy and Danna has not skipped a beat since arriving on campus.  Under his leadership, the Fighting Knights have advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship twice, including a national runner-up finish in 2013 and a quarterfinalist finish in 2014.  In addition, he has coached three All-Americans. In his first season walking the links with the Fighting Knights he helped lead the team to four tournament victories, the third-lowest team stroke average (74.21) and team average (291.63) in school history and a NCAA Division II National Runner-Up finish.  Danna arrived at Lynn after two years at Georgia Southwestern.  In the first five years of competition, GSW yielded one tournament victory and one individual NCAA Tournament appearance.  But under Danna, the 2011-12 season saw the Hurricanes win three events, appear in their first NCAA Tournament as a team, earn a No. 1 national ranking in Golfstat and have two PING All-Americans and All-Peach Belt Conference selections while Danna earned PBC Coach of the Year recognition. Beginning his professional career at the Newport Country Club in Newport, R.I., Danna returned to his hometown of Baton Rouge, La., to serve as a club instructor for player development with the junior golf program at the Santa Maria Golf Academy.  He later moved on to the English Turn Country Club in New Orleans before making the move into the college ranks at Georgia Southwestern. An active participant in the Professional Golfers' Association of America (PGA) Gulf States events, Danna earned enough points to make the 2010 Louisiana PGA Mackel Cup team, which is a tournament that pairs the top PGA professionals from Louisiana against the top PGA professionals from Mississippi. A 2006 graduate of Mississippi State University, Danna earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and professional golf management and currently holds a Class A PGA Professional status.
