Angel Whetstone
Head Coach
Angel Whetstone is entering her third season as Madison College head women's basketball coach after being hired in May 2023. Angel is the 13th head coach in program history. She also assumed the title of Eligibility, Compliance, & Game Management Coordinator. Angel was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) Thirty Under 30 in March 2025, and added to her list of accolades with a Women of Color Scholarship from Minority Opportunities Athletic Association and a Chi Omega 30 Under 30 in July 2025. During her time with the WolfPack, she has coached one all-region recipient and qualified for one Region 4 Division II Tournament. Angel has spent six years coaching in collegiate athletics, with her most recent stop as the video coordinator and creative content for the women's basketball team at NCAA Division I Missouri State University for the past year. She helped the Bears to a 20-12 record and a berth in the WNIT Tournament. Prior to MSU, Angel was the director of basketball operations at NCAA Division I SIU-Edwardsville for two years, which included a brief stint as the interim head coach during the spring of 2021, and was an assistant coach and director of operations at NCAA Division II Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. During the 2018-19 season, while attending graduate school, she guided the Texas A&M Women's Basketball Club Team to a 31-4 record, the 2018 Fall Lone Star Club Championship, and a NIRSA 2019 Regional Championship, while also serving as the operations assistant for the Aggies women's volleyball program. Angel's coaching resume dates back to the 2013-14 season, when she was a student assistant coach and team manager at Rollins College. The Tars made three trips to the NCAA Tournament during her first stint with the program. She also helped Bishop Moore Catholic High School to a 2016 Florida 5A State Runner-up finish as an assistant, and later assisted the girl's varsity team at Brazos Christian School in Texas during the 2018-19 season. Angel holds a bachelor's degree in Business from Rollins College '17, and a Master's Degree in Sports Management from Texas A&M University '19. As a prep, Angel was a two-sport athlete at Lake Howell High School in Winter Park, Florida, playing both basketball and volleyball. In her free time, Angel enjoys pilates, walking on trails, traveling, and exploring new cities. She currently resides in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

Mike Mayfield
Assistant Coach
Mike Mayfield is entering his 20th season with Madison College women's basketball. After 16 seasons as an assistant coach for the WolfPack, Mayfield served as co-head coach for the 2022-23 season, along with fellow former assistant James Adams, and led the WolfPack to an 8-20 record. During his time with the Madison College, Mayfield has been a part of three national tournament qualifying teams, including the program's lone NJCAA Division III National Championship in 2010. Mayfield has helped the Pack claim four region championships and four conference titles. Prior to Madison College, Mayfield coached for 23 years at Monona Grove High School, compiling an overall record of 243-153. For the first 17 years he coached the freshman before taking over as head coach during the 2001-02 season. His 2002-03 team claimed the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) Regional title. Mayfield grew up in Washington, D.C. He attended Chamberlain Vocation High School where he lettered in baseball and basketball. He earned team MVP and team captain honors in his senior season. After high school, Mayfield enrolled at the College of Eastern Utah in Price, Utah, to play basketball. After two years at the college, he transferred to Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, playing two more years before earning his bachelors degree in Geology and Geography. In addition to coaching basketball, Mayfield has served as a Vocational/Educational assistant at Monona Grove High School for the past 11 years. He and his wife Lisa live in Madison and have three children.

Makailah Dyer
Assistant Coach
Makailah Dyer is entering her first season as an assistant coach for the Madison College women's basketball team after being hired in August 2025. She is the daughter of Michael Dyer, who coached the Madison College men's (1989-91) and women's (1986-89) basketball teams. Makailah brings collegiate basketball coaching and playing experience to the WolfPack after spending two seasons at nearby NCAA Division III Edgewood College from 2022-2024. She also served as an assistant girls basketball coach at her alma mater, Madison East High School, during the 2017-18 season. During her playing days, Makailah starred at NCAA Division I University of North Dakota, where she amassed 1,466 points, 434 rebounds, and 313 assists as a shooting guard. She twice helped the Fighting Hawks win Big Sky Conference championships, was a two-time All-Big Sky Conference recipient (first team as a senior and second team as a junior), and was selected the Big Sky Scholar Athlete of the Year as a senior. She has earned bachelor's and Master's degrees in Kinesiology. As a prep player, Makailah was a two-time WBCA All-State selection and a four-time All-Big Eight Conference pick for the Purgolders. She averaged 24.6 points per game as a senior guard. Away from basketball, Makailah is in her third year working at Individual Skill Development and Enhancement (ISDE) in Madison
