Marshall 10 enters his fifth season as head mens hockey coach of his alma mater in 2016-17. He also enters his third season as the head men's golf coach at Manhattanville as well this year. Marshall used a youth movement to get Manhattanville back near the top of the ECAC West Conference in 2015-16, guiding a squad with 12 freshmen and seven sophomores to a second-place finish in the conference regular-season standings despite being picked last in the conference preseason poll. The Valiants finished the year 12-13-1 overall and were recognized with five All-ECAC West Conference selections, including sophomores Stephen Gaul and Anthony Ragone earning All-Conference second-team honors. Manhattanville specialized in late-game dramatics during, posting an impressive 6-1-1 record in overtime contests, the most OT wins in a single-season in school history and the most by any D-III team this year. The team's top-five scorers in 2015-16 were all either freshmen or sophomores, proving that the future is bright for the Valiants. In his second year at the helm in 2013-14, Marshall led the Valiants to a 13-12-2 record and reached the ECAC West Conference Tournament semfinals before falling to top-seeded Utica. The Valiants finished the season with four players named to the ECAC West All-Conference team, including first-team selection Anton Racklin, who was also named the ECAC West Co-Defensive Player of the year in addition to becoming the fifth Valiant in program history to be named an AHCA All-American with a spot on the third team. The Valiants also finished the year with 17 players selected for the ECAC West All-Academic Team. In his first season as the leader behind the bench, Marshall guided Manhattanville to a 15-10-3 record in 2012-13 and reached the ECAC West Conference Tournament championship game for the sixth time in program history after an overtime upset of top-seeded Utica in the semifinal round. The Valiants finished the year receiving votes in both national polls and also had four players named to the ECAC West All-Conference teams, while 14 players also were honored with spots on the ECAC West All-Academic Team. No stranger to Manhattanville hockey, Marshall spent two seasons as an assistant coach at the school and immersed himself completely in the day-to-day operations of the program. He helped to coordinate practices, scouting and video work while also planning travel itineraries and budgets. In addition, he recruited highly sought-after student-athletes and managed team academic affairs throughout the season as well. His first coaching role came after completing one of the most prolific on-ice careers in Valiant history. A two-year co-captain who wore a letter in three of his four seasons, Marshall completed his career as one of just three Manhattanville players to reach the 100-point plateau thanks to 38 goals and 64 assists in 105 career games. He graduated third in career points, fourth in assists and sixth in goals all-time at the school, while also departing second in games played and sixth in power-play goals for a career. In his senior season, Marshall set new career highs with 26 assists and 35 points to help lead the Valiants to the ECAC West Conference Tournament championship, one of three ECAC West Tournament titles that Manhattanville achieved in his four years with the team. The Valiants also reached a pair of NCAA Tournaments and finished all four seasons in the top-10 in the nation according to USCHO.com. A native of Quill Lake, Saskatchewan, the forward graduated from Manhattanville in 2010 with a bachelors degree in communications and political science. He also received his masters degree in sports business management from the school in 2012. Skelton 13 returns for his second season as an assistant coach with the Valiant mens and womens golf programs in 2015-16. As assistant coach, Skelton assists head coaches Arlen Marshall and David Turco in all aspects of the Valiant golf programs, including on- and off-campus recruiting, on-course instruction, alumni relations and academic monitoring. Skelton was a two-time All-Freedom Conference performer on the course for Manhattanville from 2009-13, including an All-Conference first-team selection as a senior. He appeared in 67 rounds for the Valiants during his four years, posting 12 top-20 finishes in 36 events and averaging 81.2 strokes per round. He was a part of two Freedom Conference championship teams as a freshman and sophomore, and also was named Manhattanvilles Co-Male Rookie of the Year in 2010 after averaging 79.3 strokes per round. The Cambridgeshire, England, native graduated in 2013 from Manhattanville with a bachelors degree in history.
