Owen Blye
Assistant Coach
Blye returns for his second season as an assistant coach with the Manhattanville men's lacrosse team under former teammate Ryder Bohlander in 2016. In his first season with the Valiants, Blye helped the squad to a 5-9 (1-5 Freedom) record, equaling the most wins in a single season since 2010. Under his guidance, sophomore Andrew Murray was named to the All-Freedom Conference first team. Blye joined the Manhattanville staff following an impressive career at University of Maryland. In four seasons with the Division I Terrapins, Blye scored 65 goals and added 44 assists for 109 points in 63 career appearances. He captained the 2012 squad to the Division I National Championship game and was honored with the 2012 Van Trump Award for the team's top attackman. Off the field, Blye was also a 2013 USILA Scholar All-American and a four-time All-ACC Academic Team member. After graduating from Maryland in 2013, Blye was drafted 24th overall by the Charlotte Hounds in the 2013 Major League Lacrosse Draft. He currently is in his second season in the MLL as a member of the Boston Cannons. A native of Chester Springs, Pa., Blye currently resides in Purchase as he pursues his graduate degree at Manhattanville. Ryder Bohlander
Assistant Coach
Bohlander returns for his third season at the helm of of the Manhattanville College men's lacrosse team in 2017. In his second season as head coach, Bohlander was forced to deal with multiple injuries, as five starters missed multiple games throughout the year. Despite the small squad, he led the Valiants to a 4-12 (1-6 MAC Freedom) record and three all-MAC Freedom selections, as sophomore Tyler Bentrewicz was named to the All-Conference first team and juniors Zach Hoffman and Ed Motherway were named to the second team. Several young players also stepped up both offensively and defensively, showing promise for a team that continues to build in the right direction. In his first season at the helm of the Valiant program, Bohlander helped the squad to a 5-9 (1-5 Freedom) record, equaling the most wins in a single season since 2010. Under his guidance, sophomore Andrew Murray was named to the All-Freedom Conference first team and Hoffman emerged as one of the top goaltenders in the Freedom Conference, while also building a strong core of underclassmen that will look to compete for a conference title. Bohlander came to Purchase with a strong lacrosse pedigree, having spent four years with Division I powerhouse University of Maryland from 2008-11. He was a four-year letterwinner and two-year starter on defense for the Terps, amassing 58 ground balls and causing 30 turnovers in his final two seasons. He helped the squad to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances during his tenure, including a berth in the NCAA Div. I Championship game as a senior. He received the Iron Terp award as the strongest pound-for-pound athlete on the team as a junior, and after his senior season received the schools Dick Edell Big Man award, which goes to the player who best embodies the positive and selfless qualities of the former coach. Off the field, Bohlander was a five-time member of the Athletic Directors Honor Roll and a 2010-11 ACC Honor Roll recipient. Bohlander spent 2013 on the roster of the Charlotte Hounds of Major League Lacrosse after originally signing with the MLLs New York Lizards, and he has also coached lacrosse at multiple levels since graduation. A native of Katonah, N.Y., Bohlander graduated from Maryland in 2011 with a bachelors degree in kinesiological sciences. Wilson joins the Manhattanville staff for his first season as an Assistant Men's Lacrosse coach in 2016. Wilson comes to Manhattanville after graduating from Coker College in the Spring of 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management. While at Coker, Wilson was a four-year member of the Cobra lacrosse team. A high-powered scorer, he finished his career ranked first in program history in goals (113) and second in points (126). A South Atlantic Conference second team All-Conference member as a senior, he was also named the Coker College Male Breakthrough Athlete of the Year in 2016. Upon graduating, Wilson served as a volunteer assistant lacrosse coach at Clarke Middle School.
