Lincoln Nguyen
Assistant Coach
Nguyen enters his second season with the Marian men's hockey program, and first as interim head coach. Nguyen comes to Marian after holding the title of associate head coach for the Coulee Region Chill (2013-15), a member of the North American Hockey Leageue (Junior A Tier II). While with the Chill he was also a goaltender consultant and held recruiting responsibilities. In his two seasons the Chill went a combined 59-51-10, and he helped advance six athletes to NCAA Division I institutions with another 17 going to NCAA Division III schools. Prior to his time in the NAHL, he spent one season (2012-2013) with the Twin Cities Northern Lights of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League (Junior A Tier III) where he held the same title of associate head coach with goaltender and recruiting responsibilities. The Northern Lights went 56-7-1 that year earning both the Bush Cup and Founders Cup. The team also qualified for the USAH National Tournament where they earned the silver medal with three players moving on to play in the NAHL. He also spent a season in the Western States Hockey League as an assistant coach for the El Paso Rhinos Junior A Hockey team (Junior A Tier III). The Rhinos went on to go 35-9-1-1 that season and were Midwest Division Champions and later claimed the playoff championship as well. Nguyen is a graduate of Saint Mary's University of Minnesota where he earned his bachelor's degree, and also played hockey for the Cardinals who compete at the Division III level out of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
