Doug Lange

Head Coach

Lange is the head coach of the mens and womens track and field programs. In 2016, Lange coached the first MLC student-athlete to earn NCAA Division III All-American status, after Todd Brassow finished seventh in the High Jump at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.    Along with being the head coach of the track and field programs, Lange also led the MLC football program for ten seasons from 2005 through 2014. During that stretch, the Knights finished with a 45-52 record, and he led the Knights to a UMAC North Championship in 2009. He won UMAC Coach of the Year honors following that season.   During his tenure, Lange coached 38 First Team All-UMAC performers, three UMAC Defensive Players of the Year, and one UMAC Offensive Player of the Year. His teams set numerous school records during that period, including the single-season offensive records for points, touchdowns, total yards, rushing yards, and total yards.  Lange also serves as a professor in the Physical Education department at MLC.

She was named Region 10 MIVCA Coach of the Year in 2008, and also coached the 2004 Sportsfest MI All-Stars.   Cox also serves as an assistant coach on the mens and womens track and field teams at MLC, and will be entering her sixth season in that role in 2015.   Cox and her husband, Randy (MLC Head Baseball Coach), have two children - Austin and Mason.
