Marygrove College Men's Soccer

Johnson has developed Marygrove men's soccer into one of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference's (WHAC) top teams over the past three seasons.  Last year (2014), Johnson and the Mustangs finished the regular season with a 7-10-1 record, winning seven of their last 11 games to earn the program's first WHAC postseason home game. In 2010 and 2013, the men's soccer team finished with the most single-season wins in program history (11), with the latter campaign going down as one of the most successful since the team's inception due to the strength of schedule. Overall, Johnson has compiled a 45-59-5 career mark at Marygrove College. The Mustangs have made it to the WHAC semifinals once under Johnson and have qualifed for a conference tournament berth each year since joining the league in 2012. Before Marygrove, Johnson enjoyed an extensive ten year professional career as a player. Johnson's professional playing career included stops with the Utah Freezz, San Diego Sockers, and most recently as a Player/Coach with the Detroit Ignition. In addition to his experience as a player, the Minneapolis, Minn. native has been successful coaching at both the club and high school levels. At the club level, Johnson led the Keliix Intra to a U19 Minnesota State Cup Championship. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where he majored in Political Science with a minor in Social Change and Development. He currently resides in Farmington with his wife, Katie, and two children.
