Head Coach
Waters was hired to start up the first golf program in Maryville College's history and to coach its men's and women's teams. IN only his second season at Maryville his men's team, led by All American Trey Bridwell won the "Great Scouth Athletic Conference" Champinship. Coach Waters retired from Heritage High School, in 2008 after 30 years of service as a teacher and coach. While at Heritage he coached the golf teams for 10 years and was named as District or Regional Coach of the Year on four occasions. He also served as the school's boys basketball coach for 16 seasons. As an amateur golfer, Waters has won many of Tennessee's top amateur and professional events such as the 2011 "Tennessee Senior Amateur" the 2012 Tennessee PGA's "Senior Players Championship" the 2000 Tennessee PGA "Coca Cola Chattanooga Open" and the Rocky Top Tour's "River Islands Open" in 2000. Waters has won many of East Tennessee's top amateur events including the Holston Hills Invitational, Ridgefields Invitational, The Lakeway Championship, Ping open the Knox and Anderson County Amateurs and a record five Blount County tournament championships. Waters is a 15 time Green Meadow Country Club Champion and in 2000 he represented the Tennessee Golf Association in the "International Team Matches" in Lima, Peru. He has also been a member of the "Tennessee Challange Cup" team ten times. In 2009 Coach Waters was elected to the Blount County Sports Hall of Fame. Waters received his B.S. in Education from the University of Tennessee and a M.S. in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University in 1988. Coach Waters and his wife Lynn reside in Alcoa.

Mandy Hammonds
Assistant Coach
Hammonds came to Maryville College as an assistant golf coach in 2014. Her coaching career follows a stellar career as a student-athlete at Tusculum College. While at Tusculum College Mandy was an all conference selection for the Pioneers and was coached by legendary coach Bob Dibble who recently received the Tennessee PGA Distinguished Career Award. Coach Hammonds gained valuable NCAA Division II experience during her four seasons within the South Atlantic Conference. Coach Hammonds contributed to a record breaking 18 hole round of 310 posted as a team in 2006 and she also had a scoring average of 84. Mandy also earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in computer science and mathematics from Tusculum College in 2008. After graduation Mandy served as an assistant coach at Milligan College (Elizabethton, TN) where she helped the college recruit the first womens golf program in school history. Mandy is currently employed at Concord Park Golf Course and she volunteers with the First Tee Program. Coach Hammonds and her husband Ryan reside in Maryville, Tennessee.
