Lance Egnatz

Head Coach

Maryville University announced that Lance Egnatz had been hired as an assistant coach for the Saints men’s basketball team prior to the start of the 2024-25 season. He was named acting head coach for the Saints Jan. 12, 2026. Egnatz came to Maryville after serving as interim head coach at Clayton State University in Morrow, Ga.   During his tenure at CSU, Egnatz helped the Lakers to an NCAA Division II Tournament appearance and back-to-back Peach Belt Conference regular season titles. In 2017-18, he helped CSU to a 24-7 record to tie the program’s record for wins in the DII era. The Lakers made the NCAA Tournament and recorded a win over Carson-Newman to advance to the Southeast Region semifinals.   Egnatz spent two seasons at Division I Tennessee-Martin. In 2013-14, he helped the Skyhawks reach the finals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, including a win over OVC East Champion Murray State. Prior to UT-Martin, Egnatz worked for four seasons at Lincoln Memorial under current Saint Louis University head coach Josh Schertz. During his time at LMU, Egnatz helped the Railsplitters to some of the best seasons in program history. The 2010-11 team notched a 27-3 record, a No. 10 national ranking and the first NCAA Tournament berth in program history. The next season, LMU reached No. 1 in the NCAA Division II rankings and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.   Egnatz previously worked at Polk State College in Winter Haven, Fla., and served as the head boys basketball coach at Somerset Academy in Pembroke Pines, Fla. His collegiate playing career saw him star for two seasons at Penn State University – Beaver, where he was the team captain and Robert J. Miklos Award Winner, representing dedication, leadership, sportsmanship and hard work. Egnatz played two seasons at Lynn University where and helped the Knights to 36 victories. He also played baseball for both PSU-B and Lynn, leading PSU-B to the 1999 National Junior College Athletic Association World Series.   Egnatz earned his bachelor’s degree from Lynn University in 2002, and graduated from Duquesne University with a master’s in sports leadership in 2014. He is married to the former Juliette Schohn, and the couple have two children, Kylie and Erik.

Jarad Hollis

Jarad Hollis comes to Maryville University for the 2025-26 season as an assistant coach after serving as a graduate student manager at Kansas State University the last two seasons. Hollis helped the Wildcats record 35 wins in two seasons, including 17 victories in Big XII play. He assisted as KSU posted a 19-15 overall record, including an 8-10 mark in the new 14-team Big 12, in 2023-24. Among the 19 wins were 10 over teams that advanced to the postseason, including Top 25 wins over Baylor, BYU, Iowa State and No. 4 Kansas. Hollis was on the staff in 2024-25 that saw the Wildcats post wins over six ranked teams including Arizona, Arizona State, Cincinnati, No. 3 Iowa State, Kansas, West Virginia.   Prior to KSU, Holis worked for four seasons (2019-23) as the head manager at North Texas. During Hollis’ time at UNT, the Mean Green enjoyed one of the greatest stretches in school history, totaling 94 victories to go along with one NIT Championship (2023), one NCAA Tournament appearance (2021), two NIT appearances (2022, 2023), two Conference USA regular-season championships (2020 and 2022) and one C-USA Tournament title (2021). In all, the squad compiled a 94-35 (.729) overall record, including a 55-15 (.786) mark in league action.   Hollis was a part of some of UNT’s greatest moments, including the first-ever C-USA regular-season championship in 2020, the historic overtime 78-69 victory over fourth-seeded Purdue in the 2021 NCAA Tournament as well as the school-record 31-7 record and first-ever NIT Championship in 2022-23.   The Monroe, La., native also spent time at Navarro College, where he earned an associate degree in general studies in 2019. Hollis earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from North Texas in 2023. He graduated with a master’s degree in counseling and student development at K-State in 2025.
