Marywood University Men's Basketball

Jon Showers is entering his fifth season as the Marywood University head men's basketball coach. He also serves as the Athletic and Recreation Department's Camp Coordinator. In the past two seasons, Showers has led the program to many school records such as average points per game, most field goals made, and most three pointers made.  The 2025–26 season saw the Pacers return to the conference playoffs as the No. 5 seed. In his third season at the helm, Showers guided Marywood to the Atlantic East Conference semifinals for the second consecutive year. Brandon Franko earned First Team All-Atlantic East honors. During the 2023-24 season, Showers led the Pacers to their first conference playoff victory in the program's 30 year history. In his first season as head coach, Showers and his squad were named NCAA Division III Statistical Champions for Assists per Game (20.9). Showers spent 11 years as an assistant men's basketball coach at both the Division II and III levels with four NCAA tournament appearances. Showers returns to Scranton after previously serving as an assistant coach for the Pacers from 2013-15. During his tenure at Marywood, he helped the Pacers to its most conference wins and third-most overall victories in program history in 2015.  Most recently, Showers has been an assistant coach at DeSales University since the 2020-21 season. He oversaw the Bulldogs win Freedom Conference regular season titles in both seasons and guided DeSales to an NCAA Division III tournament appearance in 2022. He developed two Freedom Conference Player of the Year award winners and an NABC All-American.  Prior to his time in Center Valley, Showers was an assistant coach at York College of Pennsylvania for five seasons. The Spartans won three regular season conference titles with an NCAA Division III Championships qualifying bid each time.  Showers began his coaching career at Division II Millersville during the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons.  In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, he serves as a camp counselor and tournament director for The Hoopgroup Basketball Company, the largest grassroots basketball organization on the East Coast. He served as an AAU Basketball Coach for JBHoops, York Ballers and LL Runnin' Rebels.  Showers received his bachelor's degree in history from Penn State University in 2011. Xavier Harris was named an assistant coach for the Marywood University men's basketball team. Harris joins Coach Jon Showers' staff for the 2022-23 season.  Harris served as the head boys basketball coach for the Northeast Scranton Intermediate School from 2020 to 2022. He has been the boys varsity national team assistant coach at the Riverfront Sports complex in Scranton since April 2021. Harris is the youth AAU coach at Riverfront Sports.  Harris is a basketball trainer for Harris Hoops in Scranton. He improves athletes' training habits and nutrition in order to become stronger, agile and effective players. Harris played basketball at Scranton High School, leading the team in assists, field goal percentage and points per game. He resides in Scranton.  

Hunter Robertson joined the Marywood University men’s basketball coaching staff in January 2026. He brings a diverse coaching background, having served as a head coach with Riverfront Sports, where he worked with middle school, AAU, and summer league teams. Prior to his coaching experience, Robertson was a student manager for the Marywood men’s basketball program. He graduated from the university in 2025 with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education.
