Brendan Butler

Assistant Coach

Brendan Butler '14 was named the assistant men's lacrosse coach at Marywood University for the 2026 season.  Butler served as the interim head coach at Alvernia University during the 2024 season. Prior to that, Butler was the assistant coach and defensive coordinator with the Golden Wolves from 2022 to 2024.  His foray into coaching was preceded by experience in the lacrosse sales industry. He worked as a team sales representative at Fourg Athletics from 2021-25. Prior to that, he was worked for four years as an e-commerce fulfillment manager, retail store manager and social media contributor at Universal Lacrosse in Somerville, N.J. Butler worked in youth and development lacrosse shortly after his graduation. He has been the league director and travel team coach with Ath-Ed Sports, Inc./Jersey Thunder since 2014. He interned with Fields of Growth International, conducting lacrosse clinics and camps for at-risk youth in Jamaica.  He was a volunteer assistant and director of operations at Drew during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. Butler coached for four seasons at Mount Olive High School in New Jersey.  Butler received his bachelor's degree in marketing from Marywood in 2014. He played for the Pacers for one season in 2011.

Tyler Perrelle

Assistant Coach

Perrelle returns for his third season as Head Men's Lacrosse Coach after serving one season as Interim Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Marywood University. He also serves as Marywood's Coordinator of Field Operations.   In his first season leading the Pacers, Perrelle led Marywood to a CSAC runner-up finish and ECAC semifinal appearance. He took the Pacers to the CSAC championships again in 2016.  Perrelle served as Assistant Coach with the Pacers' 2014 CSAC runner-up squad. He came to Marywood after finishing an outstanding four-year career at Division I Binghamton University. Awarded a full athletic scholarship at Binghamton University for all four years, Perrelle served as team captain and was selected to the Division I USILA/Laxworld North-South All-Star game in 2013 while being named to the pre-season Tewaaraton watch list. The Spirit of Tewaaraton award is presented to an individual involved in the sport of lacrosse, who nobly reflects the finest virtues exemplified in the game, and who, over the course of his or her life, has made a significant contribution to society and to the lives of others. A graduate of Mahopac High School in New York, Perrelle was an All-Section Lacrosse, Ice Hockey and Football star.  In addition to being captain of all three sports, he was named an All-American Lacrosse player in 2009 before heading to Binghamton. While with the Bearcats, Perrelle appeared in 56 games, tying him for the fourth most appearances in program history.  He ranks first all-time at Binghamton with 55 career assists and ranks second all-time with 110 career points.  A midfielder, Perrelle netted 55 goals, ranking him sixth all-time.  He was named the 2012 team MVP and earned America East Conference honors as an All-Rookie selection in 2010 and as an All-Tournament team member in 2011.   Totals:     Return to Staff Tyler Perrelle returns for his third season as Head Men's Lacrosse Coach after serving one season as Interim Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Marywood University. Brian Ray

Ray joined the Marywood University men's lacrosse coaching staff prior to the 2015 season.  Ray spent the past season as a graduate assistant coach at Division II Pfieffer University in Misenheimer, N.C. At Pfieffer, he helped the Falcons to a 9-4 overall record and a No. 14 national Division II ranking. As the graduate assistant, Ray was responsible for coaching faceoff specialists, as well as assisting with offensive responsibilities, academic coordination, recruiting events, team strength/conditioning programs, scouting and film coordination.  Ray played at Alvernia College, spending three seasons as a captain. In his senior season, he tallied 64 goals and 26 assists. Ray collected 59 ground balls. Ray led the Crusaders in scoring both his junior and senior seasons.
