McGill University Men's Baseball

Starr of Cote St. Luc, Que., was appointed head coach and field manager of the McGill University men's baseball team in May, 2012. He becomes the third bench boss in team history, behindJohnny Elias (1994 to 1995) and Ernie D'Alessandro (1996 to 2011). A former infielder with McGill from 2001 to 2004 who earned all-conference honours in his senior campaign, Starr brings 15 seasons of coaching experience, including seven years with the Lac St. Louis program (Mosquito, Bantam and Peewee) and seven campaigns as an infielders coach with the Redmen. He was twice-named coach of the year in the Dollard Amateur Baseball Association (2004 and 2006). During his tenure as an assistant to Ernie D'Alessandro on the McGill coaching staff, the team won two national championships (2006, 2010). Starr also served as an assistant coach for Canadian junior squad, which won silver at the 2009 Maccabiah Games in Israel.
