Tim Murdoch
Head Coach
Murdoch has volunteered as head coach of McGill mens varsity lacrosse team since 2003 and has posted a career record of 146-75-2 overall for a winning percentage of .659. He has guided the Redmen to five consecutive CUFLA East pennants (2011-2015), three undefeated regular seasons (2013-2015) and two national championships, claiming the league's Baggataway Cup in 2012 and 2015. Murdoch founded the Westmount Lynx youth field lacrosse program with the City of Westmount in 2006 and also served as head coach of the Quebec under-19 squad at the 2013 national championship for the First Nations Trophy. In 2007, he and his McGill assistants were voted CUFLA coaching staff of the year. His Redmen have team received the Harry Griffiths Trophy three times (2008, 2009, 2012) as the most outstanding sports club at McGill. Murdoch earned a liberal arts degree in history from Princeton (AB '84) and an MBA from Harvard in 1990. He played varsity lacrosse at Princeton (1981-84), where he was awarded the Howard Trophy as the team's most improved player. At Harvard, he was elected as co-captain and player-coach of the business school's lacrosse club. Murdoch discovered lacrosse as a youth in Baltimore, MD. A two-time, all-state high athlete in football and lacrosse in New Jersey, he was inducted into the Princeton Day School Athletic Hall of Fame (2000) at his high school, where he earned a record 12 varsity letters. Murdoch is dual U.S. and naturalized Canadian citizen who resides in Westmount, Que, with his wife Pascale, daughter Liliane and son Maxime, a freshman member of McGill's 2015 national championship team.
