Keith Koch

Head Coach

Koch enters his 9th season as the head coach of the Medaille College mens volleyball team. This is his 14th year associated with the mens program. Koch started at outside hitter for two seasons at Medaille College, including the schools inaugural season, participating in the North Eastern Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) in 1999. The team finished that season by making an appearance in the finals of the conference tournament and Koch was named to the NECVA all-tournament team.  He served as assistant coach before taking over the head coaching position in 2004. In his first two seasons he took the Mavs to unprecedented heights, by leading them to the Molten National Final Four tournament in both seasons. In 2004 the team made it all the way to the National Championship game and Koch was a finalist for National Coach of the Year honors. The mens program has been one of the top DIII programs in the country throughout Kochs tenure as head coach. His teams have qualified for the conference tournament every season including five division titles and one conference championship. They have consistently been ranked in the AVCA Top 15 Poll over the last seven years.  Kochs record at Medaille is 114-86 entering the 2011 season.  Koch has had the honor of coaching a number of outstanding players including four All-Americans (Erik Hartman, Jake Beiter, Brett Wood & Ryan Murdie).   Koch has been coaching volleyball for over 20 years.  He has coached several boys and girls high school and club teams throughout his career.  He is currently coaching the boys team at St. Marys of Lancaster High School.  Koch also coached six years as an assistant coach for the mens and womens basketball teams at Medaille.  Koch earned his undergraduate degree and MBA from Medaille College. Keith and his wife, Christine, reside in Lancaster with their daughters Keira and Carly.
