Mike Perrota was named the first Women's Flag Football Head Coach at Mercy University on February 19, 2026.  "Coach Perrota has an outstanding reputation in the NY-NJ area, having founded the NJ Touchdown Club Flag in conjunction with NFL FLAG," said Assistant Vice President of Athletics Matt Kilcullen, Jr. "It's an honor to be a part of this team in its first season. It's history, and we are all thrilled to be a part of it," said Mike Perrota. "We went from a collection of students-athletes who were interested in the sport to becoming a team. I can't be happier with their work ethic and the progress this winter." Perrota currently serves as Mercy's Department Chair of the Communication and Arts, Associate Professor, Media Studies and advisor to The Impact, the school's news publication.
