Jon Arosell
Head Coach
Arosell enters his sixth year as head men's and women's tennis coach at Messiah College in 2016-17. Prior to being appointed to the position in 2011, Arosell served as assistant coach for the programs for two seasons. Under Arosell the programs have continued impressive levels of success within the MAC Commonwealth, including back-to-back-back Conference Championships for the men's team and the women's first-ever conference title in 2016. Arosell has been named MAC Commonwealth Men's Coach of the Year in 2014, 2015, and 2016, and Women's Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2016. In the past three seasons Arosell has also coached six MAC Commonwealth Rookies of the Year-- Michael Brookhart (2012), Molly Brubaker (2013), Ashli Livermore (2014), Kelly Hopkins and Tim Dunn (2015), and Kaitlyn Russell (2016). Arosell arrived at Messiah College after serving as varsity boys tennis coach at Cedar Cliff High School from 2005 through 2009. He also served as varsity girls tennis coach for the Cedar Cliff program in 2006. A former tennis instructor at the West Shore Tennis Club in Mechanicsburg, Pa., Coach Arosell works as the Camp Hill Recreation Commission Advisora position he has held since 2008. He also holds a USTA High Performance Coach Certification and a Cardio Tennis Certification, and is also a lifetime USTA 4.5 level player that has played on four championship teams that have competed at the national level. We have been blessed to have Jon be a part of our tennis programs over the past few years, and were excited to see him move into the head coach position, said Jack Cole, Interim Athletic Director for Messiah Athletics. Jon brings with him a wealth of knowledge about the sport, and the ability to help players improve towards their potential. We know hes going to be a great mentor and leader to our student-athletes. Arosell graduated from The Citadel (Charleston, S.C.) in 1981 with a bachelors degree in business administration. During his time as a student he worked in the position of Company Athletic Office from 1978 through 1981. Arosell resides in Camp Hill, Pa.
