Michigan Technological University Men's Track

Haggenmiller, who has had athletes qualify for nationals in all three sports hes coached, begins his 12th year at Michigan Tech in 2013. During his career, he has coached 26 national qualifiers and five All-Americans. The Twin Cities, Minn., native began his tenure at Tech in August, 2003, and the Huskies endurance programs have flourished under his leadership. Haggenmiller was a standout in cross country, Nordic skiing, and track and field while attending Northern Michigan from 1988-91. His running personal bests are sub 16:00 (5K), sub 34:00 (10K), and sub 2:45 (Marathon). In addition, he has been a competitor at the United States and Canadian National Skiing Championships, the Olympic Skiing Trials, and the U.S. Ski Team Trials on 12 different occasions. He is a past Masters national champion (15K CL, 2004) and a Junior Olympic medal winner (20K FS, 1989). He has trained extensively with five different NCAA national ski champions and coached many Junior Olympic medalists, some of whom were national champions. Haggenmiller earned a bachelor of science degree from Northern Michigan in 1991 before going on to gain his juris doctor degree from the University of Utah in 1994. He is also licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan, however, his coaching duties have kept him relatively inactive in the legal profession. He is a USA Track and Field Certified Coach and a USSA Professional Coach in Nordic Skiing. Haggenmiller is married to Amy Hume Haggenmiller from Marquette, Mich. The couple has two daughters, Gretchen and Lucia.

Wardynski enters her fourth year working with the track and field teams. She works primarily with the sprinters and jumpers where she has led many student-athletes to All-GLIAC and NCAA qualifying performances.  Prior to joining the Tech staff she served as an assistant coach at Ontonagon (Mich.) High School. She still holds the UP Class C record for the 100-meter dash. In addition to her coaching duties at Tech, she serves as the manager for purchasing and process improvement for dining services on campus.

Isaacson was named the head coach of the Michigan Tech track and field program in June 2016. He also serves as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the cross country program. Isaacson spent the 2015-16 school year as a graduate assistant coach with the track and field and cross country programs at Michigan Tech. Previous to Tech, he was an assistant coach with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. The native of Menominee, Michigan, attended Grand Valley State, where he was an NCAA Division II All-American in cross country in 2012. He was also a two-time qualifier in the steeplechase at the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships. As a prep athlete at Menominee High School, Isaacson was the UP Champion in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters in 2008.  Isaacson is currently pursuing a second graduate degree in Master of Science in Kinesiology from Michigan Tech. He also holds degrees from Indiana State University and Grand Valley State.
