Scott Morris

Head Coach

For the first time in a decade, the MACU Women's Basketball team will be welcoming in new leadership to take over the reins of the program, as Mid-America Christian is proud to announce Scott Morris as its next head coach for the 2025-26 season. With a legendary basketball resume, Morris bring more than 30 years of collegiate and high school coaching experience to MACU. Morris put together an incredible 19-year coaching career with the Northern Oklahoma College - Enid women's basketball team from 2001 to 2020, amassing an astounding 460-154 (.752) overall record. Overall, Morris guided the Jets to 17 consecutive 21-plus win seasons, nine conference championships and four National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Tournament appearances, including making it to the final four in 2011. During his tenure at NOC-Enid, Morris had the opportunity to mentor 13 NJCAA All-Americans and 71 NJCAA Academic All-Americans, including two team NJCAA Academic National Championships. Morris was selected as the NJCAA Region II/COAC Coach of the Year. In his 19-year tenure, Morris stated that every two-year player in his program left with a conference championship, a national tournament appearance, or an Academic National Championship. Before joining the Jets, Morris spent six seasons coaching at the collegiate level, including two seasons from 2000-02 as the women's assistant coach at NOC-Tonkawa, two seasons from 1998-00 as the men's assistant coach at Oklahoma Christian, and two years as the men's assistant coach at NOC-Tonkawa from 1993-95. Morris also coached eight years at the high school level, most recently serving a five-season stint at Stillwater High School from 2020-25, where he coached the boys' team for four seasons and one year as the girls' head coach. Lauren Carmack

Lauren Carmack comes to MACU following a successful season as an AssistantCoach at Colby Community College, where she played a significant role in all facets of the women's basketball program. Competing in the nation's premier junior college conference, Carmack helped guide the Trojans to a sixth-place finish in the Jayhawk Conference, a first-round home playoff victory, and a second-round appearance in the NJCAA Region VI Tournament during the 2025-26 campaign. At Colby, Carmack's responsibilities extended far beyond the bench. She was heavily involved in player development, recruiting, scouting, opponent preparation, game planning, film breakdown, practice planning, academic support, and the day-to-day operations of the program. Through her work, student-athletes continued their playing careers across all levels of collegiate basketball, including NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NAIA, and junior college programs. She also built strong recruiting relationships throughout Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and the surrounding region, helping identify and attract talented student-athletes who fit the program's culture. Prior to Colby, Carmack served as an Assistant Coach at Sterling College for two seasons, where she helped lead the Warriors to the 2024-25 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Championship. She also served as the head coach of Sterling's varsity reserve team, gaining valuable experience in game management, player development, and program leadership. A native of Elizabeth, Colo., Carmack graduated from Legend High School before continuing her playing career at Sterling. As a four-year member of the Warriors women's basketball program, she helped the Warriors qualify for the NAIA National Tournament in each of her four seasons and guided the team to three KCAC Championships. She was recognized as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete while earning her bachelor's degree. Carmack brings a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court, with strengths in recruiting, player development, scouting, and program operations. She is committed to fostering meaningful relationships with her players while helping them grow athletically, academically, and personally.
