Midland University Men's Golf

Swaney has turned the Warriors into one of the top programs in the GPAC. In 2014, Midland earned the national berth from GPAC conference play and competed in the National Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida. At Nationals Midland accomplished their best ever finish coming in 22nd place.  During Swaneys career he has coached his team to 10 victories, 13 runner-ups, and 29 top five finishes in tournament play. Swaney has coached seven GPAC All-Conference players, as well as earning the Hauff Sports GPAC Coach of the Year in 2014. Academically, Midland has had seven individuals named as NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Midland has also been named a Scholar-Athlete Team in three straight seasons from 2013-15. Prior to his tenure at Midland, Swaney began his coaching career in his hometown as the Head Mens Golf Coach at Dana College in Blair. Swaney played competitive at the University of Nebraska at Kearney from 2003-07. While at UNK, Swaney completed a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Coach Swaney also earned an MBA in Organizational Development from Upper Iowa in 2014. Swaney lives in Blair, Nebraska with his wife Katie and two sons, Owen and Emmett. Swaney was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in the summer of 2015 and will serve at Midland's primary contact for all internal and external facility scheduling for the Event Center and Hopkins Arena. Additionally, he will oversee the athletic departments purchasing needs in respect to equipment and uniforms.
