Ian Doherty
Head Coach
Ian Doherty was named the Millikin Women's Soccer Head Coach on June 1, 2018. Doherty joined the Millikin staff after serving as the head women’s soccer coach at Wesleyan College in Georgia. In 2017, Doherty lead Wesleyan to its first ever berth in the USA South Conference Tournament and the second best record in program history. During his career, Doherty has served as an assistant women’s coach at Wittenberg University and an assistant men’s coach at Otterbein University. In 2016, Doherty helped guide Wittenberg to the NCAC Regular Season Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Doherty was involved in all aspects of the program at Wittenberg including leading the team’s recruiting efforts. Doherty served as the Director of Youth Development and Education for the Pride Soccer Club from 2010-2017. Doherty holds a USSF C License and an NSCAA Goalkeeping Diploma. As a player, Doherty was a four-year letter winner at Otterbein University. Doherty earned a Bachelor of Arts in History at Otterbein. He received a Master of Science in Soccer Coaching at Ohio University in 2015.

Nathan Phillips
Assistant Coach
Nathan Phillips joined the Millikin staff in July 2022 as an assistant womens soccer coach. Prior to coming to Millikin, Phillips spent three years as an assistant coach at Southwest Minnesota State University. Phillips was also on the staff at Millsaps College as an assistant and interim head coach. He holds a United Soccer Coaches National Diploma, United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma, United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Level 1&2 Diplomas and is CSCS Certified. Phillips graduated from the University of Mary in 2019 and earned a masters degree in Physical Education from Southwest Minnesota State.

Consuelo Michel
Assistant Coach
Consuelo Michel joined the Millikin women's soccer coaching staff in May 2025 as the assistant coach. A graduate of Mount Marty University with a degree in Exercise Science. Michel played one year of soccer at Grossmont College in San Diego, then her final three seasons at Mount Marty in Yankton, S.D. During her career, Michel received Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) honorable mention honors as a goalkeeper for the Lancers. Following graduation, Michel served as Men’s / Women’s assistant coach at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa. During her season with the program, the men’s side won the Region XI Tournament and qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II national tournament in 2021. Goalkeepers were named Player of the Week in the conference on four occasions, and one was named an All-Region keeper. On the women's side, the team finished their season in the Region XI Semifinals. After a successful season at SCC, Michel went on to coach at the University of Minnesota, Morris for these past three years as Men's Soccer Asst. Coach and Women's Tennis Head Coach.
