Misericordia University Men's Golf

Roman is in his second season as the head mens golf coach at Misericordia University.   The head golf professional at nearby Irem Temple Country Club, Roman spent the previous two seasons as the assistant mens and womens golf coach at Misericordia.   He has been a member of the Professional Golf Association of America for 38 years.   Prior to coming to Irem Temple, Roman spent six years as the head golf professional at Towanda Country Club for and served four years assistant golf professional at Fox Hill Country Club.   One of the top instructors in the region, Roman was recently certified to teach the Impact Zone by Bobby Clampett.  

Kevin Cole is in his second year as the head men's ice hockey coach at Misericordia University.  He is also in his first season at the head women's golf coach in 2026. Cole was announced as the first coach in program history in June of 2023.  "I am excited to welcome Kevin Cole to Misericordia University as our head men's ice hockey coach," said Misericordia Director of Athletics, Chuck Edkins.  "He has proven his ability to recruit, retain and develop high-quality student-athletes. His experience and passion will help establish the Misericordia ice hockey program."  The Misericordia University administration is equally excited about welcoming Cole to the campus community.  "We are excited about the addition of men's ice hockey to our varsity athletics offerings and are especially excited about the hiring of Kevin Cole as our first head coach," said Misericordia President Dr. Dan Myers.  "His experience, leadership and enthusiasm will be a tremendous asset to our program."  Cole comes to Misericordia from Norwich University, where he served as an assistant men's hockey coach and head men's golf coach. The Cadets posted a 20-7-2 record in the 2022-23 season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.  Prior to Norwich, Cole served as the inaugural head ice hockey coach at Purdue University Northwest where he spent two seasons.  Previously, he spent two seasons as the head ACHA hockey coach at Trine where he helped recruit 90 student-athletes to establish three programs.  A native of Lansing, MI, Cole earned his bachelor's degree in human resources and economics from Michigan State and a master's in organizational leadership from Trine University.  Cole played junior hockey for the Soo Indians of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) and is joined at Misericordia by his wife Paige, daughter Hattie and their two dogs. 

A graduate of Misericordia University, Nick Solema earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in sport management in 2025.   Solema competed in four years of NCAA Division III hockey, serving as an assistant captain for Finlandia University during the 2022–23 season and as a co-captain for Misericordia University’s inaugural season in 2024–25.   He has coached with Breakthrough Skills Development in Port Huron, MI, specializing in player skill development, and most recently served as a volunteer assistant coach with the Wyoming Seminary boys’ hockey program during the 2024–25 season.
