Head Coach

Rachel Travis takes the helm at Mississippi College, joining the program in May 2025. A seasoned coach with over a decade of experience at both the collegiate and high school levels, Travis brings a proven track record of competitive excellence, player development, and high-energy leadership to the Choctaws.   Travis most recently served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Tulsa, where she helped lead the Golden Hurricane to a 17-15 overall record and a berth in the 2025 WNIT.   Her previous collegiate coaching stops include impactful tenures at Austin Peay State University, University of South Alabama—where she was promoted to associate head coach—and Longwood University. Across these programs, Travis established herself as a relentless recruiter and a mentor dedicated to helping student-athletes thrive both on and off the court.   At the high school level, Travis served as a program director and varsity head coach at both Eagle Point High School in Oregon and the Florida Air Academy in Melbourne, Fla., with multiple players earning all-conference honors and breaking school records under her leadership. Travis is a graduate of Northwest University in Kirkland, Wash., where she was a standout student-athlete and team captain.
