Eddie Uschold
Head Coach
The 2025 campaign was Eddie Uschold's 26th season as head coach of Missouri Baptist Baseball. With an overall coaching record of 975-465-1, he is among the NAIA's all-time Top 15 active winningest coaches. Uschold is an 11-time American Midwest Conference (AMC) Coach of the Year, three-time Regional Coach of the Year, and three-time nominee for National Coach of the Year. Under his guidance, the Spartans have won 15 regular-season AMC titles, one regional title ('08), two opening-round titles ('13, '17), and made three NAIA Baseball World Series appearances (2013,'17). He has led MBU Baseball to the World Series Opening Round 18 times. Emilee Mitchell
Head Coach
Missouri Baptist University announced Emilee Mitchell as the next Head STUNT & All-Girl Cheer Coach on May 9, 2025. Mitchell returned to MBU after serving as a graduate assistant coach for the Dallas Baptist University (DBU) Cheer and STUNT teams from 2023-25. She is also an MBU alumna with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a minor in Business Administration. Mitchell was active in MBU’s STUNT, All-Girl, and sideline teams and served as team chaplain. During her time at DBU, both teams, NCAA Division II Intermediate All-Girl and DII Game-Day, won four National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Collegiate National Titles, and the DBU STUNT team won the first inaugural Lone Star Conference Championship. She also completed a Master of Arts in Education Ministry Leadership, specializing in Women’s Discipleship, College Ministry, and High School Christian Education at DBU. Mitchell brings over 15 years of cheerleading experience and six years of coaching, including roles at Hi-NRG Gymnastics and Westminster Christian Academy, where she led and expanded cheer programs and coached multiple teams. Her vision is to grow a program committed to glorifying God by preparing student-athletes to make a meaningful impact for His Kingdom. She lives and coaches by one of her favorite verses, Ephesians 3:20-21: “Now to him who can do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us…”

Taylor Jacobsen
Head Coach
Taylor Jacobsen was announced as the next Missouri Baptist University Head Women's Basketball Coach on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. She came to MBU after serving as an assistant coach for five years at Arizona Christian University. In total, the Aurora, Ill. native has seven seasons of coaching experience, with five seasons at ACU after serving as a graduate assistant coach for two years at Concordia University, Nebraska, when the program won the 2018-19 NAIA Division II National Championship. In five years with the Firestorm, the program posted a 90-49 overall record (.647) and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament in each of the last two seasons. As a member of the Concordia University, Nebraska coaching staff during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, the Bulldogs totaled a 67-5 overall record en route to winning back-to-back conference championships, as well as taking home the 2018-19 NAIA Division II National Championship. During her playing career with the Concordia University Chicago Cougars, Jacobsen amassed over 1,000 career points and averaged a team-high 18.3 points per game to go along with 3.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.7 steals per game during her senior campaign. Jacobsen earned an undergraduate degree in exercise science in May 2018 from Concordia Chicago and received a Master of Athletic Administration degree in May 2020 from Concordia, Nebraska.

Don Griffin

Following the departure of longtime head bowling coach Steve Solovic, the Missouri Baptist University Department of Athletics wasted little time in naming the successor. In May 2019, the promotion of Don Griffin to Head Men’s & Women’s Bowling Coach was announced. Griffin served as the Spartans’ assistant coach for two seasons from 2017-2019. On the coaching front, he completed both his Level 1 Coaching Certification and Bronze Level Coaching Certification through the United States Bowling Congress (USBC). Since 2003, he has been an active member of the St. Louis USBC Board of Directors and regularly serves on committees. From 2012-2014, Griffin was a Special Olympics bowling coach and received a Special Ambassador Award in 2013. Additionally, Griffin has owned, operated, and coached at Trio Bowlers Supply (2007-2017) and Concord Bowl Pro Shop (2017-present). Griffin also sports an equally impressive resume as a bowler. In 2007, he received a special recognition award with the fourth-highest sanctioned average on the Missouri USBC all-time list at 255.7 per game. He is an eight-time St. Louis USBC Bowler of the Year and was honored in 2008 as the Missouri State USBC Bowler of the Year. Griffin, who was inducted into the St. Louis USBC Hall of Fame (2007) and the Missouri State USBC Hall of Fame (2009), continues to be one of the area’s top bowlers.

Taylor Jarvis

Missouri Baptist University Director of Athletics Jeff Fore announced Taylor Jarvis as the 15th head coach in MBU men’s basketball history on June 10, 2024. Jarvis had been working in the MBU basketball program since the 2020-21 season, beginning as an assistant coach leading local recruiting efforts and serving as the Head JV Coach before being promoted to the lead assistant coach after his first season. After his promotion to lead assistant coach, the Spartans posted a 64-29 overall record including an AMC Championship in 2021-22. “When we stepped back and looked at who we wanted in our next leader in the men’s basketball program it became very evident early on that this individual was already in our program,” said Fore. “Coach Jarvis not only helped recruit our current roster but was also the key individual in recruiting our incoming class. While this will be his first head coaching job, I can tell you that after several conversations with him, I know he is ready.” Outside of his time at MBU, Jarvis has been a key figure for the Larry Hughes Basketball Academy, serving as the Head of Skill Development and Performance. Along with Hughes, himself, Jarvis developed Basketball Training Systems (BTS) utilized by several other academies including Chris Paul's CP3 Academy, the Bobby Jackson Academy, and the Mamba Academy. A Eureka, Mo., native, Jarvis graduated from Lindenwood University with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and from Missouri Baptist University with a Master of Science in Sport Management. Harley Story
Assistant Coach
Harley Story is in his second year at Missouri Baptist University, where he serves as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball program. In this role, he focuses on player development, DOBO responsibilities, community outreach, game preparation, and mentoring student-athletes both on and off the court. Before MBU, Harley served as the Assistant Coach at Parkway Central for girls' basketball, leading the team with an emphasis on skill development, teamwork, and competitive growth. Before PCH, he had a two-year stint at MICDS in St. Louis, where he played a pivotal role in helping the boys basketball team secure a District title and a postseason run. His approach emphasizes fundamentals, basketball IQ, and fostering a culture of accountability and resilience. Before attending MICDS, Harley founded the Hall of Fame Sports Organization in Southern Illinois, creating opportunities for young athletes in his hometown to participate in organized basketball programs. His organization emphasizes positive development, life skills, and the use of basketball as a tool to build character and confidence. Harley’s coaching journey began at Maryville University, where he recognized the transformative power of intentional player development. He further expanded his experience in Southern California, joining the largest youth sports organization in the region and honing his ability to develop players in highly competitive environments.

Jerry McQueen

Jerry McQueen joined the Missouri Baptist cross country/track & field staff as a volunteer assistant in July 2020 and transitioned into a full-time role as Associate Head Men's & Women's Cross Country Coach beginning in July 2022. In June 2024, he assumed the position of Head Men's & Women's Cross Country Coach, while retaining his duties as track & field assistant coach. McQueen came to MBU as a volunteer coach after serving the local community for 34 years as a firefighter/paramedic and Battalion Chief/Assistant Fire Marshal for the Creve Coeur Fire District. He considers it a privilege to be able to serve and support the student-athletes and coaches within a Christ-centered athletics department here at MBU. “This gives me the opportunity to give back to a sport I love, that has provided me so much in life, and the opportunity to honor the coaches who invested in me over the years.” A native of Rochester, N.Y., McQueen is a former New York State High School cross country state champion (1976). Following his prep career at Rush Henrietta High School, McQueen relocated to the Midwest to compete collegiately at Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University). With the Bears, McQueen earned multiple Missouri Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) individual titles and all-conference honors. At the Indoor Conference, McQueen was the meet champion in the one-mile and 1000-yard run. At the Outdoor Conference Championships, he won gold in the 1500-meter run, capturing a meet record, school record, and currently ranks fourth on the school’s all-time top performance list in the event. On the cross country side, McQueen was a four-time NCAA DII National Cross Country qualifier and placed 26th overall at Nationals his senior year. He graduated from SMSU in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Jerry currently resides in Fenton, Mo., with his wife of 43 years, Linda. They are active members at First Baptist Church of Arnold. Jerry has two married daughters – Julie Free (Dan) & Michelle Petke (Dan) – and has six grandchildren (Nora, Elizabeth, Ty, Kenley, Hattie, and Bo). Honors: XC 2021: McQueen was part of a coaching staff when the M’s XC Team captured the AMC Conference XC Title, and the team qualified for the NAIA XC National Championships. Four (4) individual women qualified for the NAIA XC National Championship with their finish at the AMC Conference Championships. XC 2022: Took over reins of the M’s & W’s XC programs as Associate Head Coach. The Men’s team captured the AMC Conference XC Title and received an automatic bid to the NAIA Cross Country Championships Women were Runner’s Up at the AMC Conference XC Championships. Two (2) runners, Mia Duncan (Reed) and Isabel Rinkenberger Qualified Individually for the NAIA National XC. Both established new Personal Best times (at that time) with their performance at Nationals. XC 2023: Women: The Women’s Team captured the 2023 AMC Conference XC Championship Crown (First Conference title since 2016). Four (4) runners, Mia Duncan (Reed) (Runner Up, Adrienne Rockette (4th), Gracie Kopala (7th) and Haley Hernandez (8th) earned All-Conference Honors. The Team received an automatic bid to the NAIA XC National Championships where they produced the highest finish (27th) in MBU school History. Men: On the Men’s side, Donovan Denslow captured the individual conference title at the 2023 AMC Conference XC Championships. Denslow and teammate David Fletcher (4th place finish) qualified individually for the NAIA XC National Championships. XC 2024: Women: On the Women's Team, Mia Duncan became the first MBU XC athlete to claim NAIA All-American honors since 2006 Mia Duncan, Adrienne Rockette, Julia Whorton, and Camrin Watkins all claimed all-conference honors for the Women after placing in the top 10 Duncan, Rockette, and Whorton qualified for the NAIA National Championship The women's team finished runner-up at the 2024 AMC Conference Championship Men: Grant Patten, Alvin Wible, and Caedmon Cook were also named as all-conference honorees Patten and Wible qualified for the NAIA National Championship As Assistant Track Coach, McQueen has guided the Middle Distance and Distance Runners program with the Student Athletes achieving several honors: Men’s Indoor Honors: 6 Individual AMC Conference Champions 1 NAIA National Champion: (Jordan Crawford 3000m RW) 2 All Americans: Jordan Crawford, 3000m race walk (2023) & Donovan Denslow 5000m (2023) 7 National Qualifiers (3000m RW, 5000m, DMR) Men’s Outdoor Honors: 6 Individual AMC Conference Champions 1 NAIA National Champion: Jordan Crawford 5000m race walk 1 All-American: Jordan Crawford 5000m RW (2023) 3 National Qualifiers (5000m RW, 5000m, 10,000m) Women’s Indoor Track Honors: 6 Individual AMC Conference Champions 1 All American: Mia Duncan (Reed) 1000m (2024) 9 National Qualifiers (600m, 1000m, 4X800) Women’s Outdoor Track Honors: 14 Individual AMC Conference Champions 2 All-Americans: Mia Duncan (Reed) 3000m Steeplechase (2024) & Mia Duncan (Reed) in the 3000m steeplechase (3rd place, 2025). 10 National Qualifiers: (1500m, 3000m SC, 4X800m)

Proleine Williams

Missouri Baptist University announced Proleine Williams as the new Head Track & Field Coach on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Williams is an MBU alumna and ran on the track & field team for the Spartans from 2019-22. She returns after a year as the Assistant Track & Field and Cross Country Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Penn., and a season as an Assistant Track & Field Coach at Maryville University. At Juniata, Williams expanded the team from 31 athletes to 58 student-athletes by the end of her one-year tenure in December 2024. She also assisted head coaches with the day-to-day operations of the team, with a primary focus on recruiting to bring in new prospective athletes. She also oversaw retention, training plans for all 100m to 400m sprinters, and travel plans. With Williams’ influence, the Eagles had five earn all-conference honors, five earn United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region, six earn conference medals, a pair of conference event champions, and had more than 30 broken personal records. At Maryville, Williams created weekly plans and executed workouts for 86 student-athletes to improve performances at meets, while also working on social media platforms, weekly newsletters, fundraising initiatives, travel plans, and academic checks. As a student-athlete, Williams was a team captain for three consecutive years, qualified for the NAIA Indoor National meet in the 60m dash in 2019, and earned a place on the American Midwest Conference All-Conference teams five times. She additionally spent time off the track serving as the MBU Residence Director & Coordinator of Student Life Graduate Assistant for nearly a year and a half, and as the Intramural Sports Coordinator Graduate Assistant for five months. Her playing career accolades began in 2019 as she placed second overall in the 60m and the 200m in the AMC Indoor Championships and was an All-Conference Third Team selection in the 60m at the outdoor meet. In 2021, she landed on the All-AMC Third Team in the 4x100m and the 200m at the outdoor championships. Williams received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education & Coaching from MBU in December 2021 and followed up with a Master of Science in Sports Management in December 2023. Originally from Nassau, Bahamas, Williams now resides in St. Louis with her husband.
