Jake Alvernia

Head Coach

Alvernia returned to Missouri Baptist as a coach in 2011 after playing for the Spartans from 1995-1996. In college, he played midfield and was a captain for both seasons he spent at the University. Prior to MBU, he played at University of Missouri-St. Louis. Coach Alvernia attended McCluer Senior High School and was voted to the North All-Star Team in 1991, the first to achieve the honor from McCluer. That season, he was named as First Team All-Conference selection. Coach Alvernia was in management for 15 years and owned a business for over nine. He has coached kids at St. Louis Scott Gallagher as well as assisting with men's/women's high school teams over the last 17 years.    Coach Alvernia is married and has 4 children (three boys and a girl).  Tim Koppel is in his first year as a graduate assistant. Koppel was a graduat of Francis Howell High School and also of Missouri Baptist where he played as a four year varsity player. During his senior year he player both on the field and as a goalie. Koppel was also formerly the team manager for the 2014 season. Jeremy Dubois is in his first season as a Graduate Assistant Coach for MBU Soccer after a successful career in his home country of France. Dubois has played with several youth clubs in France and for national teams in Tahiti. In 2009 and 2010, while playing with A.S. Dragon, he was ranked the top goal scorer in both seasons, an honor he had won for three consecutive years prior with A.S. Pirae. Dubois has also had a significant National career, playing with the Tahitian National Soccer Team and the Tahitian Beach Soccer Team. While playing with the beach squad, he made it to the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in New Zealand. Dubois coaching career began in 2010 at Simpson College (Iowa) where he coached forwards. Currently, he coached the Troy United Soccer Club with youth soccer from ages 10 to 18 and currently coaches the Webster Groves United Soccer Club. Coach Dubois is married to wife, Molly.
