Chris Nichols

Assistant Coach

Nichols began his time as Head Coach for the women's volleyball program at Missouri Baptist University in 2013, after spending six seasons as Head Assistant Coach and two as the Associate Head Coach. As head coach, Nichols has compiled a record of 104-16. He has helped lead the team to the school's first National Title appearance in 2015, a Final Four in 2005, an Elite Eight in 2006, 2014 and to the NAIA National Championship Final Site in 2011, 2012. He has helped to produce 16 NAIA All-Americans including the 2006 NAIA Player of the Year, Ana Mercado and 2014, 2015 NAIA Libero of the Year, Haley Pouliezos, both firsts for the University. Chris is also very reputable in the club volleyball scene where he helped start Kaepa St. Charles in 2003 and served as Club Director/Coach for Team Saint Louis VBC from 2004-2009. Currently Chris remains very involved with High Performance Volleyball Club as a coach and women's Development Director. He coached the varsity boy's and girl's volleyball at Francis Howell High School from 2002-2005, and helped the girl's team to its first conference and district titles since 1981. He was also instrumental in helping the boys team to three-straight Final Four appearances.  Nichols is a graduate of Francis Howell High School in St. Charles where he was a four-year varsity setter from 1997-2000, including the 2000 State Championship team. He played for MBU for three years and helped the Spartans earn second place in the National Tournament in 2003. Chris is married to his high school sweetheart Jayma, and they have three daughters Addisyn, Emersyn, and Fayth.
