Head Coach

Kalie Mader is in her third year as the head coach of the Missouri Southern Volleyball team.  Year two saw the Lions qualify for the MIAA Tournament falling to eventual MIAA and Regional Champion Nebraska-Kearney in the opening round. The Lions had three earn All-MIAA in Janelle Brehm, Morgan Nash and Alicia Pickett. The team once again posted the top GPA in the athletic department as the squad finished with a 3.58 cumulative mark after the spring semester. Ten of Mader's student-athletes were named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, while Nash, Pickett and Brehm all were named MIAA Scholar-Athletes. Pickett earned the MIAA Academic Excellence Award as she finished her four-year career with a perfect 4.00 GPA.  In her first year, Mader helped guide Alicia Pickett to her third-straight All-MIAA campaign, while posting the highest women's GPA in the department as the Lions Volleyball team posted a 3.61 cumulative GPA. That earned the team the AVCA's Team Academic Award. Mader came to Southern after three years as the head coach at Blinn College in Texas where she helped the Buccaneers to a 73-43 record, three-straight NJCAA Regional appearances and a trip to the NJCAA Championship.
