Mike Cannon

Bio Mike Cannon is in his third season on staff at Missouri Valley College as the Offensive Line coach and recruiting coordinator. He was promoted to Assistant Head Coach in the spring of 2024. Prior to his arrival at Missouri Valley he spent two seasons on staff at Dodge City (Kan.) Community College as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator. In two seasons on staff Cannon produced six NCAA Division I Offensive Linemen. Before that, Cannon came from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. At NEO Cannon produced five Offensive Linemen who signed to play NCAA Division I football. Prior to that, Coach Cannon was at Langston (Okla.) University where he served as the offensive Line coach, run game coordinator and recruiting coordinator. Cannon brings over ten years of coaching experience which includes coaching dominance at the NCAA Dl and Dll levels. He currently holds a Bachelors of Arts and Science in Criminology from the University of New Mexico. Cannon hails from the University of New Mexico where he played from 2006-2010. He was recognized as a senior captain in 2010 and was a member of the Mountain West Conference All-Academic team. Cannon continued his playing career overseas for the Kragujevacs Wild Boars out of Kragujevacs, Serbia. At the collegiate level, Cannon coached at NCAA DI Northwestern (OKla.) State in 2014 as the assistant offensive line coach, in 2012 and 2013 at NCAA DII Valdosta (Ga.) State at the tight ends coach where they won the Gulf South Conference and NCAA Dll National championship, in 2011 he served as the tackles and tight ends coach at NCAA DII Midwestern (Texas) State. In 2015, Cannon coached at Santa Fe (Fla.) High School and Gainesville (Fla.) High School as the offensive line coach; during his tenure at Santa Fe High School they were able to win their district, regional championships and compete for a state championship in the state of Florida. Prior to his arrival at Langston, Cannon served as the offensive line coach at his alma mater Durant (Fla.) Senior High School in Plant City, Florida, where he was instrumental in helping them win their district championship. At Langston, Cannon compiled a 19-3 record in two seasons as the run game coordinator. Langston became known nationally by boasting the best and most efficient run game. He mentored many all-conference honorees and one NAIA all-American, CJ Carrillo. Carrillo was widely regarded as the strongest offensive lineman in the nation. In 2018, Langston University led the NAIA in yards per play with a 7.65 average and was number two in total offense on the year
