Mitchell College Men's Basketball

Peretz, who assisted with the golf program in 2012, spent eight years as the head coach of the men's and women's cross country programs. He is also entering his 17th season as head coach of the men's basketball program at Mitchell. Peretz earned his bachelors degree from Eastern Connecticut State University in general studies with a concentration in physical education. He played collegiately at Rhode Island College after graduating from East Lyme High School. In addition to his coaching duties, Peretz also serves as the scheduling coordinator for the department of athletics and is an adjunct instructor for the college. He currently resides in Niantic, CT with his wife, Denise, and son, Tyler.

I will be heading into my 2nd season as an assistant men's basketball coach at Mitchell College for the 2023-24 season. During my first year, I helped guide the Mitchell College Mariners to a season's best 23-5 and on route to their second consecutive New England Collegiate Conference Championship title, while it happened to be the first time in history the program won in consecutive seasons. While working under NECC Coach of the Year Todd Peretz, who was completing his 24th season at the helm, we earned the conference's lone automatic bid for the 2023 NCAA Division III Tournament. A tough draw brought us facing #11 ranked (D3hoops.com) Johns Hopkins University from Baltimore, MD, who eventually made their way into the Sweet Sixteen. Prior to coaching, I played at Mitchell College, while graduating with a B.S. in Business/Sports Management. From 2018-2022, I served as team captain during my senior season, while also being part of a program that won two NECC Championships (2019, 2022) and earned two NCAA Tournament appearances. I have gained experience coaching with athletes ranging from youth to college ages due to working numerous camps in the region, such as Mitchell Basketball Skills Academy, The Connecticut Basketball School, St. Thomas More and Connecticut College. I also coached the 6th grade boys team for CT Storm Elite AAU in 2021.
