Monmouth College Women's Cross Country

Welty is now plying his talents as a coach. A member of the coaching staff since 2012, Welty was promoted to lead the cross country program in the fall of 2015. In his first three seasons on the cross country coaching staff, the Scots earned five all-region honors and produced one All-American. Last season alone, fourteen runners  claimed all-conference honors. A four-year member of the cross country and track and field teams, Welty was a three-time all-conference performer in cross country and in track claimed the Midwest Conference steeplechase title as a senior. He was also named academic all-conference his junior year.  When Welty isn't training the college's distance runners, he's training himself for triathlons. Welty graduated Monmouth in 2012 with degrees in business and public relations. He earned his Masters in sport management from Western Illinois University in 2014.
