Monroe College Women's Basketball

I'm Camille McLellan, Head Women's Basketball Coach at Monroe University in New Rochelle, New York. After completing year two at Monroe, I have had the honor of leading another talented group. We won our Regional and District Championship in 2024 and headed to Nationals. This year we won Regionals/Districts again and went back to Nationals. This year was the first year since 2014-2015 the program has won 25 games. Creating a competitive and winning environment has come with growth and many learning opportunities. Both last season and this season I was blessed with the opportunity to develop and coach two NJCAA All American players. Sending four players to NCAA Division I schools and seeing our freshman class thrive has been amazing.  Monroe University is an inclusive and a welcoming environment. As a professor and basketball coach I have the pleasure of seeing the best of both worlds within our University. On campus I'm known as Coach Mac. I'm passionate about coaching and helping others fulfill their life goals. I look forward to working with you all!

Damel Ling was tabbed as head coach of the Express women's basketball team in July of 2023. Ling brings to Monroe over 20 years of coaching experience at both the collegiate and high school levels.  In Ling's first season at Monroe, the Express captured the Region 15 and Northeast District Championships. They defeated three nationally ranked teams in the process, including No. 12 Rowan College South Jersey Gloucester County in the consolation game of the NJCAA Tournament. Ling was selected as the Northeast District Coach of the Year. He coached and mentored Daysiah Smith, who set several program single-season and career records and earned a spot on both the NJCAA All-America third team and the All-Region 15 first team. She was also honored as the NJCAA Division III Player of the Week and was named the Most Valuable Player of the Region 15 Championships. In Lings second season, the Express finished 21-10 and advanced to the Region 15 Championship Game. Monroe was nationally ranked all season. In addition, Beverly Williams earned a spot on the First Team Region 15 All Region Team, and Makira Bunsie got a Second Team nod.
