Patrick Crarey II
Assistant Coach
Crarey has coached five Shock student-athletes who earned All-American honors and two players who have enjoyed success playing professionally overseas. In his first season, Crarey led the Shock to a 10-18 overall record in 2010-11, and in 2011-12 the mens basketball team finished with an overall record of 14-14. The highest win total since the program moved to NCAA Division II competition in 1992. Under his leadership the Shock recorded back to back double digit winning seasons, and earn two bids the USCAA National Basketball Championships. During the 2012-13 campaign the Shock ended with an overall record of 9-19, and for the first time the program did not receive a bid to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Basketball National Championships. Crarey played for the Golden Eagles of La Sierra University in Riverside, CA from 2002-2004, prior to entering the coaching field. He earned his bachelors degree in Exercise Science in 2007. After his collegiate career ended, Crarey remained at his alma mater to become an assistant mens basketball coach from 2004-2008. A native Washingtonian Crarey graduated from nearby Takoma Academy, where he excelled in golf, baseball, and basketball and was named Male Athlete of the Year in 2001. Crarey is a member of the Black Coaches Association (BCA) and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
