He has produced several All-Conference selections, including Defensive Player of the Year Sam Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) and Offensive Player of the Year Megyan Merrill (Millport, N.Y.), while earning recognition by his peers as the Conference Coach of the Year twice in the past two seasons. Morrisville has also gained national attention under his direction, earning AVCA All-Region and All-American recognition, while excelling off the field as well as several players have boasted academic accolades in NEAC Scholar-Athlete and Co-SIDA All-District Academic recognition. In the spring 2020 semester, Wallace’s squad broke yet another record to add to their storied success, posting a collective 3.79 team grade point average. Wallace came to Morrisville after nine successful volleyball seasons at Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania, where he also served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee advisor. Throughout his 22-year career on the sidelines of Division III volleyball programs, Wallace has collected a 341-291 overall record, going 121-109 at Morrisville throughout the past eight seasons. While at W&J, Wallace posted a 143-129 (.526) overall record, leading the President’s to four ECAC Division III Tournament bids, a President’s Athletic Conference Championship title in 2005, six straight appearances in the conference championship final four, along with three players of the year awards and over 50all-conference player honors. His team has qualified seven times for the American Volleyball Coaches Association Academic All-American Team award. Prior to W&J, Wallace served as the head coach of volleyball and softball at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford for five seasons, appearing in the Alleghany Mountain Collegiate Conference final four for four straight years in volleyball while earning Coach of the Year honors in 1998. In 2000, the Panthers set a school record for victories in a season and qualified for the ECAC Southern Regional Tournament, where they placed third overall. In five seasons at the helm of the softball program, Wallace guided the team to the Alleghany Mountain Collegiate Conference championship tournament in each season, claiming the championship title in 2003, as several earned all-conference throughout his time with the Panthers. Wallace earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from The College at Brockport in 1991 following an eight year career in the United States Air Force. He began his coaching career at Brockport where he served as the head men’s volleyball coach for two seasons, and assistant for the women’s program from 1991-93. Wallace then moved to the scholastic ranks, coaching the girls’ varsity team at Skaneateles High for five years, leading the team to a New York State Championship in 1997-98. Outside of the collegiate ranks, Wallace remains active in the volleyball club circuit, and is also on the selection committee for the ECAC Volleyball Championships. He has also served as the head volleyball coach for the Empire State Games Scholastic Girl’s Division, and Director of Central New York Volleyball for the Empire State Games.

Former SUNY Morrisville volleyball standout Kim Dunkleman has returned to the Mustang courts for the upcoming fall 2021 season, as assistant coach of the women’s program as announced by head coach Fred Wallace. Dunkleman returns to the green and white Mustangs after serving as assistant coach at Centre College in Kentucky. During her time at Centre, Dunkleman assisted the Colonels with not only creating and executing drills on the court, but also implementing recruiting strategies for the institution. She also managed the program’s social media accounts. Prior to her role at Centre, Dunkleman served as a volunteer assistant with the Mustangs program, working with Wallace in recruiting as well as preparation for practice and competition. During the 2019 season with Dunkleman’s assistance, the Mustangs claimed their third straight regular season conference title and made a third consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Dunkleman joined Wallace on staff following a storied four-year career as a student-athlete at Morrisville where she assisted in guiding the team to an 81-44 overall record as a setter. The Williamsville, New York native guided the program to it’s first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) title and added a second her senior season as she made two appearances in the opening round of the NCAA Championship tournament. During her time on the court, the Mustangs went an astonishing 36-9 on their conference slate. Across her four-year career Dunkleman etched her name in the Mustang record books 13 times, ranking first overall in assists, while ranking second in service aces. Her efforts across her career lauded her All-Decade Team honors as released in 2020. Dunkleman is a 2020 graduate of SUNY Morrisville with a degree in entrepreneurship and small business management and also has her New York State Coaching Certification.
