Amir Hadzic
Head Coach
Hadzic made it back-to-back honors when he was again named MCC Coach of the Year in 2011 after Mount Mercy claimed the regular season and MCC Tournament titles and reached the NAIA national tournament for the first time in school history. In 2015, Mount Mercy returned to the NAIA national tournament after an undefeated month of September and runner-up finish in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Tournament. In addition to his duties as Mount Mercy's head coach, Hadzic is head boys' soccer coach at Cedar Rapids Xavier High School, where he led the Saints to the 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2015 Iowa Class 2A state championships. He is a seven-time Metro Coach of the Year (2000 and 2003 at C.R. Prairie; 2007, 2010, 2011, 2015 and 2016 at C.R. Xavier) and the 2010, 2011 and 2015 Mississippi Valley Conference Coach of the Year. Hadzic was also awarded the 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2015 Iowa High School Athletic Association's Coach's Achievement Award. In the summer of 2010, he was also named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Iowa High School Coach of the Year. In 2011, Hadzic earned the National Federation of State High School Associations Coach of the Year for the State of Iowa. In 2013, he was selected to coach the east all-stars at the annual Iowa High School Coaches Association All-Star Game. In the spring of 2014, Hadzic was honored with the Ed Thomas Coach of the Week award. He was inducted into the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association (IHSSCA) Hall of Fame in February 2015. Hadzic has also contributed greatly to the growth of soccer in eastern Iowa through the support and development of several soccer programs. Hadzic's ability to mentor and engage his student-athletes has led many to contribute their skills within their communities. Eighteen of Hadzic's Mount Mercy players have become head coaches throughout the country, including seven in the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area Graham was a team captain, all-Midwest Classic Conference and academic all-MCC performer during his playing career for the Mustangs and Head Coach Amir Hadzic. Graham is a full-time AP environmental science and chemistry teacher at Cedar Rapids Washington High School, where he is also head boys' soccer coach and assistant wrestling coach. The Warrior boys' soccer program has flourished since he took over in 2002, winning more than 100 games during Graham's tenure. They have made eight state tournaments, including a fourth-place finish in 2008 and 2016. Graham, who has coached 15 all-staters at Washington, is a six-time Mississippi Valley Conference Coach of the Year (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2014, 2016) and four-time Metro Coach of the Year (2006, 2008, 2014, 2016).
