Ron Rohn

Head Coach

Rohn has led the Muhlenberg College women's basketball team to an outstanding record of 306-103 (.748) in his first 15 seasons, including seven Centennial Conference titles the last 11 years. He became only the third coach in the College's athletic history to reach 100 wins in fewer than 150 games with a 74-47 victory against Swarthmore in December 2006. On February 19, 2011, he became the fastest Muhlenberg coach to 200 wins, reaching the milestone in his 266th game with a 67-61 win against Ursinus, and he earned his 300th win on Feb. 10, 2016, against Haverford. Through the 2015-16 season, Rohn's career winning percentage of .748 was the best of any coach in Centennial Conference history. Rohn has coached the Mules to many program milestones, including their first national top-10 ranking and 20-win season in 2001-02, a school- and CC-record 26 wins in both 2005-06 and 2008-09, their first All-Americans, their first Jostens Trophy (Division III player of the year) finalist, their first appearances in the Division III Sweet 16 in 2008-09 and 2010-11 and their first at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament in 2009-10. Twice during his tenure, Rohn was named Mid-Atlantic Region coach of the year (2006 and 2009). In the latter year, Muhlenberg became the first team in CC history to go undefeated through the league's regular season and postseason. The Mules have qualified for postseason play in all but one of Rohn's 15 seasons and have a  postseason record of 23-15 (.605), including an 13-3 mark in the last nine CC playoff tournaments. In both 2009 and 2016, Muhlenberg was ranked 14th in the final Division III poll. Rohn has shown an ability to successfully adapt the team's style to the strength of its personnel, transforming a 19-win team that led all NCAA divisions in scoring (90.8 points per game) in 2004 to one that won a school- and CC-record 26 games while ranking in the top 25 in two defensive categories two years later. Rohn came to Muhlenberg with 21 years of Division I coaching experience, including nine as head coach. During that time, his teams made two NCAA Tournament appearances, won three conference championships and advanced to the conference semifinals nine times. For the previous six seasons, Rohn was head coach at Colgate University. In his last two years, Rohn led the Red Raiders to their most wins in 10 seasons (13 in 1999-2000) and their first-ever back-to-back appearances in the Patriot League semifinals. In 1995-96, Rohn's first season as head coach, Colgate came within one win of an NCAA Tournament berth. A 1982 graduate of Fordham University, Rohn spent three seasons as head coach at Hofstra University from 1991 to 1993. Inheriting a 2-25 team, he guided Hofstra to the East Coast Conference Tournament finals in his first season. Prior to his stint at Hofstra, Rohn was an assistant coach for five years at Manhattan College and three years at Lafayette College, playing an instrumental role in three conference championship teams. Rohn, who also was head coach of Muhlenberg's 2007 Centennial Conference champion women's golf team, began his coaching career as an undergraduate assistant at nationally ranked Fordham.
