Murray State University Women's Golf

Milkmans success is ranked among the best in the history of the sport. Milkmans latest success was winning her ninth Ohio Valley Conference championship in the spring of 2014 when the Racers got the job done in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Milkman and the Racers have become a regular favorite to win the Ohio Valley Conference Championship. She also has nine matching OVC Coach of the Year awards. In 2014, Delaney Howson was the OVC Player of the Year and the Racers first four-time All-OVC selection. She was also a CoSida Academic All-America. Trimble, a freshman, was named to the All-OVC Newcomer Team. In 2015, Moa Folke earned All-OVC and All-OVC Newcomer Team honors as a freshman. Folke became the seventh Racer to win the OVC individual title in 2016. The Racers and Milkman are no stranger to the NCAA Tournament having been to regional play three times. In 2014, they competed in Tallahassee, Fla. In 2009 and 2010, MSU played in Columbus, Ohio and in Columbus, Ind. Milkman is also involved with her sport at the national level and recently finished a four-year term on the NCAA Womens Golf Committee. During her tenure at MSU, Milkman has coached 38 All-OVC Players and a conference-leading seven Ohio Valley Conference Players of the Year. There have been 23 players named to the All-OVC Tournament Team with six going on to play professionally.  Additionally, Milkman has coached 38 National Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar Golf Team selections, and 17 players have received the OVC Medal of Honor. The Racers won the OVC Academic Achievement Award for Womens Golf in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Milkman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Alabama in 1987. She earned a masters of business administration degree from MSU in 1991. At Alabama, she was part of an outstanding squad that finished ninth in the 1987 NCAA Championship. After her playing days she served as a student assistant coach for the Crimson Tide. Prior to starting the Murray State womens golf program, Milkman served as an assistant golf professional at Temple Hills County Club in Franklin, Tenn. A native of Murray, Velvet is married to Martin Milkman, an economics professor at MSU. In their spare time, the two enjoy traveling and spending time on Kentucky Lake. 

Snodgrass will assist Head Coach Velvet Milkman in all aspects of the program. Snodgrass, a native of Liverpool, England, Will is married to wife Marcie and they have two sons, Nicholas, 18, and Thomas, 16. Snodgrass graduated from Murray State University in 1994 with a degree in advertising and and a minor in marketing.
