Muskingum University Men's Basketball

Before arriving in New Concord, Martin played for the Wittenberg University mens basketball program where he was a four year letterman, 1,000 point career scorer, earned 1st team All NCAC (2022), NCAC Athlete of the Week (Feb 2022), and was named to the Great Lakes Invitational All Tournament Team (2022). OHIO/HBCU All star game (Nationwide arena, 2022) Martin is also a two-time NCAC regular season champion, two-time NCAC conference champion, and was on the team for three NCAA tournament appearences. His class record was 93-23 overall (2nd all time in school history), and he was a starter for the 28-2 team that was nationally ranked top 10 all year and reached the Sweet 16 (rest of tournament cancelled due to COVID). After Wittenberg, Martin signed a contract to play professionally in Panama. Martin also added one year as a summer basketball coach for Nike Basketball where he practiced facilitating the moral development of young players along with teaching skills and fundamentals of basketball. Martin graduated from Wittenberg University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in sports administration and communication.

Bio The Muskingum University Athletic Department has named Dave Hilliard Muskingum Men's Basketball assistant coach. Hilliard previously retired in 2015 after his 30 year career as a teacher, coach, and athletic administrator at Hillsboro High School. He then worked as a sports broadcaster for Iheart Media, Storied Rivals, and now at AVC Communications. Dave and his wife Jodi have been married for 37 years (1986). They have two daughters; Hannah and Holly and have two granddaughters; Piper and Presley. Dave and Jodi now reside in New Concord.
