Jacob Gleason

Head Coach

Gleason enters his seventh year as head cross country and track and field coach at Muskingum University. During Gleasons tenure at Muskingum, he has transformed the track & field teams into a competitive squad in the Ohio Athletic Conference and the region. He has guided numerous Muskies to All-OAC accolades and coached both Demetrius Bailey and Chase Addy to the NCAA National Championships. He arrived in New Concord after serving as assistant track & field coach at Ohio Northern University. During his three-year tenure at ONU, Gleason coached three NCAA Division III All-Americans, six NCAA Division III National Qualifiers, three Ohio Athletic Conference Individual Champions, 26 All-Ohio Athletic Conference performers, was a member of the 2006 Great Lakes Regional Coaching Staff of the Year and helped guide the 2008 Polar Bear men to the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Team Championship. While at Ohio Northern, Gleason also served as an assistant director for the 2008 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championship Meet, was a member of the OAC Coaches' Committee Standards and was the conference's Ranking Coordinator. Prior to Ohio Northern, Gleason was associate head cross country coach and assistant track & field coach at Geneva College from 2002-2005. While with the Golden Tornadoes, he coached five NAIA Cross Country National Qualifiers, 13 NAIA Track & Field National Qualifiers, two American Mideast Conference Individual Champions and helped guide the 2003 womens team to the Mideast Conference Championship. Gleason, a former cross country and track standout in college, received his bachelor's degree from Westminster College in 2002 and his master's degree from Geneva College in 2004. His other duties at Muskingum include serving as an instructor in Muskingum's Health and Physical Education department.

Chase Addy

Assistant Coach

Addy, a former standout for the Muskie track team was a six-time Ohio Athletic Conference champion and two-time OAC runner-up in the pole vault. He also was a four-time national qualifier for the NCAAChampionships. Addy works with sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers. Thus far, he has coached two All-OAC athletes and one All-OAC relay team. While at Muskingum, Addy is pursuing a Masters degree in Adult Education.

Kendra Averesch

Assistant Coach

Averesch enters her second year as assistant coach for the Muskingum cross country and track and field teams. Averesch, a former track and field standout at the University of Findlay, was a four-time NCAA All-American in the shot put and an All-American honoree in the hammer throw. She holds the third longest throw in NCAA Division II history in the shot put with her mark of 54-10 and is the school record holder at Findlay in the event. Averesch was the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion in the shot put and was a two-time USA championship qualifier. In the classroom, Averesch earned All-Academic accolades every semester at Findlay. Averesch graduated from Findlay in 2015 with a degree in strength and conditioning.
