Rich Bubenchik
Assistant Coach
Bio Rich Bubenchik serves as an assistant coach for the men's and women's golf programs. Bubenchik is a graduate of Massillon Jackson High School, Massillon, Ohio, where he was a two-year letterwinner in both football and baseball. Bubenchik was All-Federal League and all-county in baseball. Bubenchik attended Columbia College in Columbia, California, to play baseball and ended his collegiate tenure at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. Bubenchik plays competitive golf throughout Ohio. He was the 2018 Zanesville Senior Classic Champion and OSGA 2019 Runner-up at Westbrook CC. He is a two-time club champion at Cambridge Country Club and also has one senior club championship title. Bubenchik also serves as a board member with The Zanesville District Golf Association. Rich and his wife, Lori, coach varsity girls golf at John Glenn High School. They started the program in 2014 and have coached there since it’s inception. Bubenchik was the 2015 Eastern District High School Coach of the Year. Lori and Rich reside in Norwich, Ohio. They operate a family-owned convenient store and pizza shop in Quaker City, Ohio. They have one daughter, Lexi, who is currently in Honors College and plays golf at Texas A&M University-Commerce. She is a 2018 WGCA Academic All-American.

Joe Puch
Coach
Puch serves as head coach for the Muskingum mens golf program. Puch arrives at Muskingum after two successful years as a graduate assistant mens basketball coach at Heidelberg University. Throughout his time at Heidelberg, Puch coached and developed Second Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree Deonte Holder, as well as, OAC Co-Freshman of the Year Kiere Bennie. Furthermore, Puchs recruiting efforts helped Heidelberg secure some of the best talent in Ohio, bringing in three All-State selections and one District Player of the Year. Following graduation from Marietta in 2012, Puch began his collegiate coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach at his alma mater. The Pioneers finished 20-8 on the season and won the OAC Championship. Under his coaching tutelage, the team advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Puch was a four-year standout on the Pioneer mens basketball team. In 2011, Puch helped bring Marietta its first-ever OAC tournament title and first regular season crown in 36 years. That season, the Pioneers advanced to the Sweet 16. Puch and his 2012 classmates finished with 66 wins, the most by a graduating class in Marietta history. He was named the team's best defensive player for four consecutive years. Puch received his Master of Education degree from Heidelberg in May 2015. Puch also serves as assistant coach for the Muskingum men's basketball program.
