In his first season at the helm of the NC State women's basketball program (2013-14), Moore led the Wolfpack to the following accomplishments: A 25-8 record  A top 25 RPI  A fourth place ACC finish despite preseason prediction of 10th  11 straight weeks in the AP and USA Today polls  A first AP top-10 ranking since 2001  Four wins over AP top-20 teams  Ten wins over top-100 RPI teams  A 13-2 nonconference record  A 14-2 record at home His second season (2014-15) at the helm of the Wolfpack was also impressive, as his team struggled through the significant adversity of having five student-athletes miss a combined 81 games throughout the season as a result of multiple injuries and an NCAA ruling on freshman Bosnian center Sara Boric to still finish with an 18-15 record which ended in the Sweet 16 of the 2015 WNIT. In a WNIT first-round win at East Tennessee State on March 19 of his second season at NC State, Moore earned the 600th win of his career. In so doing, he became just the ninth head coach in NCAA history to earn 600 wins in 800 or fewer games (791). During Moores third season (2015-16), the Wolfpack posted a 20-11 record (10-6 ACC) to finish tied for fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings. NC State dominated local rivals Duke and North Carolina throughout the season, sweeping the season series against both teams for the first time since the 1990-91 season. On January 14, the Wolfpack won 65-62 at No. 22 Duke, winning at Cameron Indoor Stadium for the first time since 1996. The Wolfpack followed this up with a 29-point win over North Carolina on January 31, the largest such NC State victory in the series since 1978. NC State would complete the sweep at North Carolina on February 21, winning 80-66 in front of a national TV audience during ESPNs Play 4Kay week.   NC State Director of Athletics Deborah A. Yow announced on April 5, 2013 that Wes Moore had been hired as NC State's new head women's basketball coach. Moore spent 15 seasons (1998-2013) as the head coach at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) where he led the Lady Mocs to 12 Southern Conference (SoCon) regular season titles, nine SoCon tournament championships, and nine NCAA Tournament berths, while becoming the winningest coach in UTC and SoCon history. He came to Raleigh as the reigning SoCon Coach of the Year, an award he has earned on six separate occasions. In the 2012-13 campaign, Moore guided the Lady Mocs to the SoCon regular season and tournament titles, equaled the best win total in school history at 29-4, and knocked off an NCAA Elite Eight Tennessee Lady Vols squad by a score of 80-71 in the regular season. The Lady Mocs posted a 19-1 conference mark and closed out the regular season on a 19-game win streak, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.   He is the first coach in history to advance three different teams to the NCAA Tournament at the Division I, II, and III levels. "Coach Moore is a special coach and a terrific person," said Yow. "He has an impressive ability to rebuild programs. Quite simply, Wes wins no matter where he has coached. With the additions of Notre Dame, Louisville, Pittsburgh and Syracuse, the ACC will clearly be the premiere women's basketball conference in the nation. NC State is determined to return to the upper tier of our league, and, over time, Coach Moore and his staff will achieve that goal for us. Additionally, his teams have excelled academically, and we share that value." Near the end of his time at UT Chattanooga, Moore's Lady Mocs squads recorded perfect 1000 single-year NCAA Academic Progress Rates (APR) in three of the last four reporting periods and Graduation Success Rates (GSR) above 75% for the last four cohort periods. "I am humbled and proud to be back at NC State, and to be a part of returning this storied program to prominence," said Moore. "The great tradition and history of Wolfpack Women's Basketball make it one of the best places in the country to coach and play. Debbie Yow has a reputation for building successful athletic departments that win, while also preparing student-athletes to have productive lives long after their college careers are over. I'm very thankful for this great opportunity and can't wait to get started. Go Pack!" From 1993-95, Moore served as women's basketball assistant coach at NC State under legendary head coach Kay Yow. During that time, the Wolfpack went 34-24 and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. His other head coaching stops include Maryville College (Division III) and Francis Marion (Division II). West, Nikki White, Clayton Whittenburg, Dereck Wickerham, Blake Willoughby, Hannah Wilson, Brandon Wilson, Justin Wilson, Lauren Winters, Dawn Wofford, Katherine Womack, Jennifer Wood, Andrew Wood, Jeff Wood, Phillip Wood, Tom Woodson, Dr. Randy Woolard, Donna Yoshikawa, Tracy  Full Staff  expand The 2016-17 season will be Nikki Wests fourth as the associate head coach of the NC State womens basketball program.   During her first season with the Wolfpack, she helped the team achieve a 25-8 record, a top 25 RPI, a conference finish of fourth place despite a preseason prediction of 10th, and a berth in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.   West also worked very closely with 2014 WNBA Draft picks Markeisha Gatling (first round) and Kody Burke (third round). During the 2013-14 season, she helped Gatling become the nations most accurate shooter and helped the Wolfpacks star center achieve an 81 percent increase in scoring output from the prior season (9.6 ppg. to 17.4).   Gatling was an honorable mention All-American and first team All-ACC selection, while Burke was a second team All-ACC choice.   Her second season (2014-15) on the Wolfpack staff was also impressive, as the team struggled through the significant adversity of having five student-athletes miss a combined 81 games throughout the season as a result of multiple injuries and an NCAA ruling on freshman Bosnian center Sara Boric to still finish with an 18-15 record which ended in the Sweet 16 of the 2015 WNIT.   During Wests third season (2015-16), the Wolfpack posted a 20-11 record (10-6 ACC) to finish tied for fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings. NC State dominated local rivals Duke and North Carolina throughout the season, sweeping the season series against both teams for the first time since 1991. NC State head coach Wes Moore announced on April 17, 2013 that Nikki West had been named Associate Head Coach for the Wolfpack womens basketball program.   West served on Moores coaching staff at Chattanooga for nine seasons, including six years as an assistant coach before being elevated to associate head coach her final three seasons with the Lady Mocs.   At Chattanooga, West played a key role in winning seven Southern Conference titles, and making eight postseason appearances, including five NCAA Tournaments. Under her tutelage at UTC, Alex Anderson and Shanara Hollinquest were both named SoCon Players of the Year twice, and were each selected SoCon Female Athlete of the Year.   In nine seasons with West on staff, the Lady Mocs earned 25 first-team All-SoCon selections. Additionally, UTC had five SoCon Tournament MVPs and 23 all-tournament selections dating back to 2004-05.   The Lady Mocs had a record of 220-68 (76.3%) with West on the sidelines.   No stranger to the Atlantic Coast Conference, the former Nikki Blassingame was an All-ACC performer at Clemson from 1996-99. She helped lead the Tigers to four NCAA Tournament appearances while playing in 126 career games.   Clemson won the programs first ACC Tournament title in 1996 when West was a freshman. The Tigers repeated that feat in 1999 when she was named to the ACC All-Tournament team. The 1998-99 squad won a school-record 26 games, advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, and finished the season ranked 10th by the Associated Press.   As a senior she started all 31 games and averaged 10.4 points and 7.9 rebounds. West graduated in 2000 with a degree in early childhood education from Clemson. She was a three-year member of the athletic departments Tiger Honor Roll.   She also coached the Carolina Lady Flames AAU team in 2002, leading the squad to the 15-and-under state championship. She also served as head coach of the junior varsity team at Dorman High School and was a varsity assistant coach. She led the Lady Cavaliers to a 15-4 record and the junior varsity championship in 2001.   A native of Seneca, S.C., West led Seneca High School to the state championship her senior year. In June 2011, she married UTC football assistant coach Marcus West. Her husband Marcus is now an assistant head coach at Austin Peay. Out-of-State Recruits to use, Email for A. Doyle, Carrie A. On January 14, the Wolfpack won 65-62 at No. 22 Duke, winning at Cameron Indoor Stadium for the first time since 1996. The Wolfpack followed this up with a 29-point win over North Carolina on January 31, the largest such NC State victory in the series since 1978.
