Head Coach

Farrell was hired as the first head coach of the North Central College men's lacrosse program in summer 2015. The Cardinals will take the field for the first time in spring 2017. Farrell will be a part of a start-up program for the third time in his coaching career, having most recently constructed a program as a head coach in nearby Lisle at Benedictine University, where he started in summer 2011 and guided the Eagles into varsity competition for the first time in spring 2013. Farrell compiled a record of 28-20 in three years as the Eagles' head coach. Benedictine posted a record of 7-9 with a 4-5 finish in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) in its first season of play, improving to 10-6 overall in 2014 and 11-5 in 2015, when the Eagles went 5-1 in MLC play and advanced to the MLC Tournament for the first time. He joined Benedictine after coaching two years at Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan, where he served as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. The native of Mahopac, New York helped lead the Bulldogs to a 25-6 overall record and two Midwest Lacrosse Conference championships during his tenure which also led to the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance.   Farrell was a four-year letter winner at Springfield College (Massachusetts), where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Movement and Sports Studies with a minor in Health Studies. He was a three-year starter and helped lead the Pride to three NCAA tournament appearances. Farrell also coaches the New Wave Lacrosse Club and has served on the NCAA National Regional Advisory Committee the past two years.
