North Central College Men's Volleyball

Exline was hired as the first head coach of the North Central College mens volleyball program in April 2014.   A former NCAA Division I player with coaching experience at the NCAA Division III, high school and club levels, Exline recently wrapped up the program's inaugural season, finishing with an overall record of 8-16, while posting a 5-8 record in Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) play.   I am honored to be a part of North Central College as we approach our inaugural season, Exline said. I want to thank Jim Miller, vice president for enrollment management and athletics Marty Sauer, president Troy Hammond, and the entire Cardinal community for this excellent opportunity to add another successful program to an already-established championship tradition.   This is an impeccable opportunity for growth in our athletic department, North Central College, and the volleyball community. This is going to be an exciting and thrilling journey as we prepare for a successful future.   Exline is the former head boys and girls volleyball coach at Argo Community High School in Summit, as well as the assistant club director, master coach and 18-and-under head coach for the D1 Southside Volleyball Club in Palos Heights. He was the beach volleyball league operations manager for the Chicago Sport and Social Club in the summer of 2013.   Exline was a four-year letter winner and three-year team captain for the varsity mens volleyball program at Loyola University Chicago from 2008-2011, winning the teams Most Improved Player Award in 2009. The Ramblers posted an overall record of 75-38 in Exlines tenure with the program, including a 21-8 record and a second-place finish in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA).   He coached as a graduate assistant for the mens and womens volleyball programs at Carthage College from 2011 to 2013, assisting with all aspects of both teams. The womens program qualified for the national semifinals in 2011, and the mens program advanced to the championship match of the first-ever NCAA Division III Mens Volleyball Championship in 2012.   Exline resides in Naperville. He earned a bachelors degree in natural psychology from Loyola in 2011 and a master of education degree with an emphasis in leadership in teaching from Carthage in January of 2014.  

Staple joined the men's volleyball coaching staff as a graduate assistant coach in the fall of 2016. He also serves as the Director of Program Development and 16U Lead Coach at Xcel Athletes/Hitmen Volleyball Club, and is currently a volunteer assistant varsity coach at Benet Academy.  Previously, Staple was the boy's 17U club coach at Sports Performance Volleyball Club and boys 18U club coach at Hitmen Volleyball Club. Staple graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2013 with a bachelor of arts in communication with a minor in leadership studies.  He will be pursuing a master's degree in leadership studies from North Central.

Lejman '15 joined the North Central men's volleyball coaching staff as a graduate assistant coach prior to the 2015 season and will serve as an assistant coach in 2016 while also taking on the duties of strength and conditioning coordinator. Prior to joining the Cardinal staff, Lejman served as head coach at the Sky High Volleyball Club, while also volunteering as an assistant boy's volleyball coach at Conant High School.  Lejman is USA Volleyball IMPACT certified and holds a Illinois High School Association Coaching Orientation certificate. Lejman graduated from North Central with a bachelor's degree in exercise science in 2015.
