Tramaine Shaw
Head Coach
Shaw continues her legacy with Northeastern, as the 2015-16 Hall of Famer begins her seventh season as an assistant coach to the Huskies. Shaw continues to assist in all facets of the track & field progams, while coaching the sprints, horizontal jumps and hurdles pack. Coach Shaw has coached seven national qualifiers - three of which were in the long jump. She has also seen the success of 24 IC4A/ECAC, CAA and New England champions. Shaw has also coached student-athletes who have broken seven school records, including a 30-year-old school record in the mens 4x100m relay - a group that also qualified for the NCAA Championships. Shaw joined Zara Northover as one of 25 members to be named to the 25th Anniversary CAA womens track and field team in December 2009. Shaw wrapped up her Northeastern career with Husky records in the 100 hurdles (13.58) and pentathlon (3,685), Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) records in the 100 hurdles (13.71) and 400 hurdles (59.88) and the America East record in the pentathlon (3,607). She was also part of the Huskies record-setting indoor 4x400 relay and outdoor 4 x 100, 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 relays. However impressive that sounds, Shaws forte was not record-setting performances, it was championship wins. She was named America East Rookie of the Year both indoors and outdoors as a freshman. NU then switched to the CAA, and over three outdoor championships, Shaw went on to win CAA titles in the 100 hurdles, 400 hurdles, long jump and relays. She was named CAA Co-Most Oustanding Track Performer in 2007 after helping the team win NUs first CAA title in any sport. Shaw earned her degree in Psychology from Northeastern in May 2009.

Jack Brady
Assistant Coach
Brady enters his fourth season as recruiting coordinator and throws coach to the Northeastern men's and women's track & field programs. Under his tutelage, the Northeastern throwers have achieved 25 All-New England performances, three New England crowns, five All-East performances, 34 CAA top scores, three CAA individual titles and two NCAA regional qualifications. As recruiting coordinator, the program has won four New England Indoor Track and Field Championships, one CAA Outdoor Track and Field Team Championship, and one IC4A Cross Country Championship. A proven leader as both a student-athlete and coach, Brady joined the Northeastern track and field coaching staff in September 2012 after assisting Erickson with the throwing, multi event and high jumpers at Harvard for five years. I hired Jack because he believes in the vision I have for the Northeastern program, Erickson said. The loyalty and trust Jack has displayed while working together in the last five years as a student-athlete, captain and an assistant coach, made Jack the lead candidate and the perfect fit for our program. Jack and I believe in the same things; that hard work, being a good person and doing the right things are truly the foundation of success and we are very much on the same page with the value based leadership that Peter Roby expects from his coaches." During the 2012-13 season, Brady guided his throwers to 26 personal best performances and six appearances at the ECAC and IC4A Championships. He also mentored Max Milder to an appearance at the 2013 NCAA East Preliminary Round in the hammer throw. Brady graduated from Harvard in 2010 with a B.A. in economics. During his career at Harvard, Brady was a nine-time Heptagonal Championship scorer, scoring in every event in which he competed. He was named to the All-Ivy League second team in the weight throw and All-East in the hammer throw as a senior. He is the only athlete to rank in the top ten in four events in program history (hammer throw, weight throw, shot put, and discus). His success in the hammer qualified him for the NCAA Preliminary Championships in Greensboro, N.C., as a senior. As team captain, Jack led the men's team to its highest finish at the Indoor Heptagonal Championships in the last eight years, finishing only two points out of third place. Brady also led a group of multi-event and vertical jumpers in addition to assisting with implementing workout packages for the student-athletes in the sprints, multi event and jumps groups. Jack is a true student of our sport and is willing to fill whatever shoes the program needs, Erickson said. His versatile background as an athlete and coach is a huge asset to the Northeastern program. I believe Jack is the brightest, most communicative and enthusiastic young coach in the business and we are very lucky to have him on staff." During the 2011-12 indoor and outdoor seasons, Brady assisted Erickson in mentoring eight Harvard throwers to All-Ivy League accolades, including a men's and women's Heptagonal champion in each season. Brady, reunited with Erickson, now makes Northeastern one of only a handful of schools in the country to have two throwing coaches on its staff. "I know that with Cathrine at the helm and the staff we have in place, we can accomplish great things, Brady said. What has been so great is that the student-athletes are just as excited as we are to get started. They have already done a great job of buying in and, because of this, I know that the sky is the limit for this program."
