Daryl Landrum
Head Coach
Landrum is in his 17th season as Northern Kentucky University's men's golf coach and 14th year as the women's golf coach. This past season, Landrums men's team qualified for NCAA regional tournament play. For the mens team, it marked 14 years in a row that the Norse have competed in the postseason as a team. The women's team has had a player or team qualify 10 of the last 11 years. As the coach of the Norse, his teams have won eight Great Lakes Valley Conference championships, four Super Regional championships and had over 2,000 victories. Landrum has been named GLVC Coach of the Year nine times, including the 2011-12 season, and Regional Coach of the Year four times. From 2001 to 2005, Landrum coached four-time All-American Kim Keyer-Scott, who qualified for the NCAA II Championships as an individual in her final three seasons at NKU. In 2002, Landrum led the NKU women's team to the NCAA II East Regional championship. The Norse advanced to the NCAA national championships at Allendale, Mich., where they finished third in the nation. Landrum led the men's team to the NCAA Division II North Regional championship and a berth in the NCAA Division II championships in 2001. It marked the first time since 1996 NKU had advanced to the national finals. Landrum, a 1976 graduate of Grant County High School, played three years of golf at Campbellsville (Ky.) College and earned NAIA All-District honors in 1978 and '79. In addition, he was twice named Campbellsville's most valuable golfer. Landrum, a native of Crittenden, Ky., has been a member of the PGA for 15 years. He has won Junior Golf Leader for the state twice and was named Golf Professional of the Year for the Kentucky section in 2006. Landrum has also played a major role in organization of the Seven-Up Junior Golf Tour in Northern Kentucky.

David Shearer
Head Coach
As the Head Golf Coach, David Shearer brings a unique perspective of Norse golf as a former standout student-athlete and a former assistant coach. The two-time PING Golf Coaches Association of America All-American has been an assistant for six years under longtime head coach Daryl Landrum. In 2024, Shearer enters his third season as the head coach of both the men's and women's golf programs. In his first season (2022-23) Northern Kentucky's men's golf team placed sixth at the Horizon League Championship, while the women finished seventh. In 2023-24, both the men's and women's teams finished fifth at the Horizon League Championships. Shearer, a 2019 NKU David Lee Holt Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, was the three-time Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year and individual GLVC champion in 2005, 2006 and 2007. He still holds records for the lowest single-season scoring average (72.46, set in 2007) and most career individual wins (seven, set in 2007). Shearer returned to NKU golf as an assistant coach from 2012 to 2017, and from 2021 to 2022. His duties include assessing players' strengths and weaknesses, creating individual development plans, skill instruction, golf course management techniques and recruiting. "I am excited that David, a member of the Norse Hall of Fame, will become the leader of the Norse men's golf program upon Coach Landrum's retirement. His experiences as an NKU student-athlete and assistant coach provide him with the knowledge and skills that are necessary to build a competitive golf program," said Dan McIver, NKU's Deputy Athletic Director. "David understands what it takes to win, having won the individual GLVC Championship three times. He also has a passion for helping student-athletes succeed off the course and create an environment that ensures student-athletes have a positive experience at NKU. I am confident that the men's golf program will reach new heights under David's guidance." Shearer is the General Manager and Director of Golf at Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, where he oversees a staff of 50 and handles administrative, budgetary and marketing endeavors. Shearer graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Business. He now lives in Villa Hills, Ky. with his wife Natalie and their daughters, Ava and Olivia.

Stephanie James
Assistant Coach
Stephanie began as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at NKU in 2011. She works primarily with the women’s soccer and track & field teams. She is in charge of coordinating all student-athlete medical records, pre-participation medial forms, and assisting with CPR and First Aid training for the athletic department. She is also preceptor and clinical supervisor in the Athletic Training Education Program. James completed her undergraduate degree at Northern Kentucky University in 2007, earning a bachelor’s in athletic training. She received a master’s from the University of Central Florida in 2009, earning a degree in sport and fitness. After graduate school, she worked as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She is also a certified American Heart CPR and First Aid Instructor.
