Andy Peterson
Head Coach
Peterson is entering his fourth year as Assistant AD for Facilities. In this role, Peterson oversees the day-to-day facility operations and scheduling for all of the Bearcat Athletics venues. He also assists with home contest operations and management. He will be entering his third year serving as the head womens golf coach and remains a mens basketball assistant coach, a role he has held since the 2011-12 season. Peterson played basketball for the Bearcats from 2003-2008 and helped the Bearcats claim the MIAA tournament title in 2008. That year, he was named All-MIAA Honorable Mention as well as Academic All-MIAA. The Bearcats also won the MIAA regular season championships during the 2006-07 season as he led the team in minutes played. Peterson finished his career with the third highest three-point percentage and is sixth all-time in steals. After graduation, he spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Northwest, under former-head coach Steve Tappmeyer in 2008-2009 and now present Bearcat head coach Ben McCollum in 2009-2010. Peterson spent the 2010-11 season as the head mens golf coach and assistant mens basketball coach at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa, before returning to Northwest as the assistant mens basketball coach. A native of Trenton, Mo., he earned two bachelors degrees from Northwest in 2007 and a masters degree in Agriculture in 2008. He received a second masters degree in Physical Education from Northwest in 2010. He is married to former Bearcat track and field athlete Emily (Churchman), who now serves as the Bearcat Cross Country/Track and Field assistant coach. The couple have one daughter, Ellie, and currently resides in Maryville.

Lathan Croy
Head Coach
Northwest Missouri State University head women's golf coach Lathan Croy led the Bearcats to the program's first NCAA Div. II regional tournament berth in the 2024-25 season in his first year at the helm. Croy also saw the Bearcats place second at the 2025 MIAA Tournament, the highest finish in program history. Bearcat Director of Athletics Dr. Andy Peterson has named Lathan Croy as its new head women’s golf coach July 26, 2024. Croy served as a student assistant and graduate assistant for the Bearcat golf squad since he arrived at Northwest in 2020. Croy was a first-team all-region collegiate golfer at North Central Missouri College in Trenton, Mo., before he landed at Northwest. Croy has been an integral part the Bearcat women’s golf program since joining the staff. Since Fall 2022, the Bearcats have posted seven of the top-10 single-round team scores in program history. He also helped coach Paige Hoffman to an MIAA individual title and an appearance at the 2023 NCAA Div. II national championship meet. He earned his associate degree in arts and teaching from North Central Missouri College in 2019. He completed his bachelor of science degree in physical education from Northwest in 2022. He gained his master’s degree in applied health and sport sciences in 2024. When not busy with golf, Croy serves as the instant replay coordinator for Bearcat home football games.
