Alicia du'Monceaux

Head Coach

du'Monceaux leads the University of Northwestern fastpitch softball program as head coach for the eighth season in 2016. Coach du'Monceaux (pronunounced Du-Mon-So) played shortstop and pitcher for the Eagles for three years before making the tranisition to coaching in 2005. After four years of focusing primarily on the team's pitching as an assistant coach, du'Monceaux was named the head coach prior to the 2009 campaign.  Since becoming the Eagles head coach, du'Monceaux's teams have hit the 20-win mark three times. In the same five-year stretch, Northwestern has produced 23 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) All-Conference award winners and 47 Academic All-Conference honorees. In 2011, du'Monceaux's squad was named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) top academic team for all of the NCAA's three divisions. A two-time all-conference performer, duMonceaux ranked second in the UMAC in 2004 in pitching wins, second in innings pitched and fourth in pitching strikeouts. She owns the fourth most pitching wins (19) in Northwesterns history and the seventh most career pitching strikeouts (79) in program history. Her 215.2 career innings pitched places her sixth all-time in an Eagle uniform. Du'Monceaux's 2015 season also had seven athletes recognized in UMAC conference awards, one all-conference regognition, one player earning the UMAC sportsmanship award, and as a team advancing to the second day of the UMAC conference tournament. Du'Monceaux looks to make great strides come the 2016 spring season.  When she's not on the diamond, du'Monceaux can be found on campus in her other role as the director of local and global outreach in the Office of Student Life. A Stillwater, Minn. native, duMonceaux and her husband Travis, along with their sons Owen, Landon and Lawson, live in Coon Rapids.
