Northwestern posted it's best-ever finish at the NCAA Championships in 2016, a ninth-place result at Eugene Country Club. The 'Cats punched their ticket to Oregon by winning the Shoal Creek Regional, the first NCAA Regional victory in team history. The Wildcats turned in the best scoring average in team history (288.88) in 2015-16, shaving nearly six strokes off the previous mark, led by five of the Top-6 single-season performances in program history. After the Big Ten Championships, Kim became Northwesterns first Player of the Year winner and its third Freshman of the Year recipient. In addition, Fletcher was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year for the third time and Kim, Tangkamolprasert, and Kacie Komoto were named to the All-Big Ten first team. Miller joined the Wildcats in 2008 after spending a year as the lead coach at the Green to Tee Golf Academy in Glencoe, Ill. There she coached over 90 golfers and helped to coordinate a number of tournaments and projects as well as assisting in the growth of the Academy. Previously, she spent time as a professional golfer, competing in the 2005 U.S. Women's Open at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver, Colo. A native of Dixon, Ill., Miller is a 2004 graduate of Purdue University where she earned her degree in consumer and family science. She competed in four NCAA Championships for the Boilermakers and was named team captain as a senior. Miller spent four semesters on the coaches' honor roll and received the Durham Brothers Leadership Award given for excellent work ethic as well as a positive attitude. She earned All-American status at Newman Central Catholic High School and is the younger sister of Christie Hermes, who competed for Northwestern from 1997-2001. Four of the five Wildcat starters during the 2013-14 campaign earned All-Big Ten distinction as the group recorded another top-eight finish at the NCAA West Regional to secure a return trip to the NCAA Championships. Making back-to-back appearances at the NCAA Championships for the first time in program history, Miller and Fletcher coached the Wildcats to another top-15 finish at the 2014 NCAA Championships. Miller helped guide the Wildcats to a banner 2012-13 season, one that saw Northwestern tie for first at the 2013 Big Ten Championships, with all six competitors placing in the top 25, including three in the top 10. NU shared the 2013 Big Ten Championship title with Purdue as freshman Kaitlin Park led the way with her sixth-place finish and spot on the All-Championship Team. Miller helped coach Park to Big Ten Freshman of the Year accolades and first-team All-Big Ten honors, along with sophomore Hana Lee, in 2012-13. Following the 2013 Big Ten Championships, NU had a strong showing at the NCAA East Regional, finishing sixth and punching its ticket to the 2013 NCAA Championships. Making its second NCAA championship appearance in program history, Northwestern finished amongst the top 15 teams in the country. Northwestern set a new program record, carding a 284 in two rounds during the 2012-13 season and had 18 sub-300 rounds. Since joining Emily Fletcher's coaching staff for the 2008-09 season, five Wildcats have achieved eight All-Big Ten honors, eight NGCA All-America Scholar awards have been distributed and the team has received 27 Academic All-Big Ten honors. Miller joined the Wildcats in 2008 after spending a year as the lead coach at the Green to Tee Golf Academy in Glencoe, Ill. There she coached over 90 golfers and helped to coordinate a number of tournaments and projects as well as assisting in the growth of the Academy. Previously, she spent time as a professional golfer, competing in the 2005 U.S. Women's Open at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver, Colo. A native of Dixon, Ill., Miller is a 2004 graduate of Purdue University where she earned her degree in consumer and family science. She competed in four NCAA Championships for the Boilermakers and was named team captain as a senior. Miller spent four semesters on the coaches' honor roll and received the Durham Brothers Leadership Award given for excellent work ethic as well as a positive attitude. She earned All-American status at Newman Central Catholic High School and is the younger sister of Christie Hermes, who competed for Northwestern from 1997-2001.
