Paul Booth
Head Coach
Booth assumed the coaching reins of a team that posted only one victory in 24 chances during the arduous 1992-93 campaign. He made an immediate impact on the program, leading Norwich to a respectable 12-13 mark during his first year on the sidelines. The dramatic improvement resulted in the team being recognized as the Most Improved Team in New England, according to the New England Basketball Coaches Association. In the following two season, Booth led the Cadets to winning records in 1995-96 and 1996-97, the first time a Norwich mens basketball team had accomplished that feat in nine years. The Cadets would later string together five-consecutive winning seasons from 2002-03 to 2006-07, a school record. The teams all-time leader in coaching victories at Norwich (257), Booth most recently picked up the 300th win of his coaching career on Feb. 4, 2015, a 77-73 victory over Anna Maria College at Andrews Hall. The win was also memorable as it was the first-ever over the AMCATS for the program. A 1983 graduate of St. Josephs College (Vt.), he began his coaching career that same season at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, N.Y., leading the Vikings to a 20-win season and a spot in the NJCAA Region III postseason. He would later serve as the Assistant Varsity Coach and Head Junior Varsity Coach at Springfield College. Completing his masters degree in 1988 at Springfield, Booth would go on to direct the mens basketball program at Thomas (Me.) College for five seasons. Posting 51 wins in five years, Booths 1991-92 squad registered a 15-11 record and qualified for the NAIA District V postseason and, following the season, earned a nomination as one of the most improved teams in all of New England. Booth was selected to be the program coordinator for the first Adidas ABCD Basketball Camp that was held in Tel Aviv, Israel in 1997. Among the many coaches and players there, he worked with NBA Hall of Famer . Booth also runs a two-week basketball camp at Norwich every August.
