Massi is in his third year as the head track and field/cross country coach at Notre Dame after being named to the position in October 2014. In his time at NDC, Massi has led the NDC Track & Field and Cross Country programs to new heights. In Fall 2015, Massi coached Nicole Burlinson to winning the 2015 Mountain East Conference Cross Country Championship. In Spring 2016, Toure McCully was named the MEC's Male Track Athlete of the Year, as well as Charles Astin setting a new MEC record in the High Jump with a mark of 2.06M.  The 2016 Falcon mens and womens track and field teams garnered 14 All-MEC honorees and three individual conference champions.  The Falcons broke 15 school records during the indoor and outdoor track and field season along with six athletes ranked in the nation and Toure McCully earning Second Team All-American honors in the 60m hurdles and 110m hurdles.   During the 2014 Cross Country season, the Falcons garnered a total of four individual All-MEC honorees. The 2015 Falcon men's and women's track and field teams accumulated 12 All-MEC honorees and two individual conference champions. The Falcons broke five school records during the indoor and outdoor track and field season along with three athletes ranked in the nation.   Prior to Notre Dame, Massi spent a year as a recruiting coordinator/assistant track and field/cross country coach at Tiffin University. Massi is no stranger to the program having served as an assistant coach from 2009-2011. Massi helped bring in a talented and record year recruiting class for the Dragons.  The men's track and field team finished third in the GLIAC and fifth place overall at the NCAA Division II track and field championships along with eight All-Americans, the best performance in the program's history.   Prior to Tiffin, Massi spent two years as the head track and field/cross country coach at Division III Trine (Ind.) University 2011-2013. Massi brought in the largest recruiting class ever in his two years at Trine and made an immediate impact on the program. Massi more than doubled both the men's and women's cross country and track team rosters.  Under Massi's guidance, the Thunder accumulated five individual conference champions, 16 All-MIAA honorees, 16 new school records, 24 All-MIAA Academic honorees, one MIAA Most Valuable Track Athlete, four national qualifiers and one NCAA Division III All-American, the first in program history since joining NCAA Division III.  The men's track and field team finished third overall at the MIAA Conference Championships in 2013, the best team performance in Trine history.  The women's cross country and track team earned impressive academic accolades as well.  The 2011 women's cross country team earned a 3.52 GPA, 2012 women's cross country team 3.35 GPA, 2012 women's track team 3.46 GPA, 2013 women's track team 3.53 GPA.   During his first stint at Tiffin, Massi's time at Tiffin included working with the men's and women's  track and field program.  The men's team placed 13th at the 2010 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships. Under Massi's assistance, 11 athletes earned NCAA Division II All-American honors, multiple athletes to post-season honors including the GLIAC men's track athlete of the year, seven GLIAC individual champions, 61 All-GLIAC honorees, 23 USTFCCA All-Regional selections and 74 Academic All-GLIAC honorees. Under Massi's tutelage 17 new school records and two GLIAC meet records were broken.   Massi ran for legendary coach Bill Gallagher at Ashland University. Massi was part of five conference championship teams in track and field/cross country and a seven-time All-GLIAC honoree. In cross country, Massi was a national qualifier and a member of the 5th place team at NCAA Division II Nationals in Kearney, Neb.   As a prep, Massi was a six-time state qualifier and five-time All-Ohio in track and cross country, personal best 5k (15:32), placed 4th in the 1600 meter (4:19.67) and 800 meter (1:54.60) at the Division I State Track Meet Championships.
