Jess West
Head Coach
Jess West enters her eighth season with Oberlin in 2025-26 after joining the field hockey staff as an assistant in the summer of 2018 and was later named interim head coach in July of 2019. After the 2019 season, the interim tag was removed and West became the permanent leader of the Crimson and Gold. Leading the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Coaching Staff of the Year, West has led 13 All-NCAC honors. In addition to growing success on the field, 46 athletes have earned a spot on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Academic Squad while there have been 13 NFHCA Scholars of Distinction, three NFHCA Team honors, nine College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District recipients, and 37 athletes awarded to the NCAC Academic Honor Roll. West was a member of the Messiah College field hockey squad in 2011 and 2012 and earned her bachelor's degree in athletic training. She was a part of two Middle Atlantic Conference Tournament Championship teams that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in both seasons. Prior to her time at Messiah, she played two seasons at Catawba College. Tiffany Saunders
Assistant Coach
Saunders enters her second year as the head field hockey coach at Oberlin. Saunders came to Oberlin after serving as the lead assistant coach at Radford University (VA) since 2009. On the field she worked closely with the team's forwards and goalies, while off of the field she was known for her tireless recruiting efforts. The Saunders File - Earned her first collegiate win with a 2-1 triumph over Bethany (Oct. 6, 2015) - Guided Maggie Gossiaux to first-time All-NCAC honors (2015) and Taylor Swift to honorable-mention honors - Led 10 team members to NFHCA National Academic Squad - Was the lead assistant coach at Radford University from 2009-14 - Four-year starter at Radford, helping the Highlanders to a runner-up finish in the 2003 NorPac Tournament and a 2004 East Division Championship, which included a perfect 6-0 regular season - Left Radford ranked second in career assists with 20, with 18 coming over her final two seasons in a Highlander uniform - Worked various camps while coaching at the club level in addition to providing individual instruction to players of all levels

Adrianna Napoletano
Assistant Coach
Napoletano joins first-year skipper Tiffany Saunders and the Oberlin College field hockey team after completing her degree last spring. Napoletano attended the University of Scranton and obtained a bachelor of science in marketing with a minor in communication. As a member of the Royals field hockey squad, Napoletano was a varsity letter winner and recipient of the Royal Spirit award, while being named to the Deans List twice. While at Scranton, Adrianna worked as an athletics administration intern, and as an intern for community relations for the WBS Penguins, overseeing the Penguins Kids Club. She was a member of the University of Scranton Marketing Society and served on the Social Media Board from 2013-15.
