Occidental College Women's Cross Country

Bartlett helped coach the mens cross country team to its first SCIAC Championship in 11 years in 2006. Since taking over as the head coach of the Occidental College Track & Field and Cross Country programs in January of 2007Rob Bartlett has led the cross country teams to five Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships three with the men and two with the women coached 37 individual SCIAC Champions and has twice been named the USTFCCCA Men's Cross Country West Region Coach of the Year. Bartlett was also named the USTFCCCA Mens Outdoor Track & Field West Region Coach of the Year in 2016. In 2011, Bartlett led the men's cross country team to its first NCAA Division III West Region title since the program last won it in 1991. Bartlett was named the SCIAC Coach of the Year for Mens Track & Field in 2015 and the SCIAC Coach of the Year for Womens Track & Field in 2016.  On the national level, the Tigers have had 31 All-American performances and 48 Academic All-Americans during Coach Bartletts tenure. Student-athletes coached by Bartlett have broken eight Occidental Track & Field School Records and produced 109 performances that rank amongst the top ten ever in Occidental track & field history. Prior to coaching at Occidental Bartlett competed for the Tigers as an exchange student in 2003 before completing his undergraduate studies at the University of East Anglia in his native United Kingdom. While coaching at Occidental, Rob received his Masters in Coaching and Athletic Administration from the University of Concordia in Irvine. Bartlett has an  IAAF Level Five and USATF Level Three certification in endurance events and he is a USATF Level Two certified coach in sprints, hurdles, relays, and  jumps.

Yamaguchi was named the 2015 USTFCCCA West Region Assistant Coach of the Year.   Prior to joining the Oxy family, Tyler coached at his alma mater, Punahou High School, between 2004-2007 while he was attending the University of Hawaii. There he coached the 2007 state champion in the 200m, 400m and 4x400 relay. Additionally, he holds USATF Level 2 certifications in the sprints, hurdles, relays and jumps and holds USATF Level 3 and IAAF Level 5 certifications in the sprints and hurdles.   Yamaguchi also serves as one of the athletic department's strength and conditioning coaches. He is CSCS certified through the NSCA and works with many of Oxy's 21 intercollegiate varsity sports.
